1. Sports Interaction Ontario

Sports Interaction
  • Top Choice for Canadian Bettors
  • Serving Canadians Since 1997
  • Great LIVE Betting Platform
sports interaction ontario sportsbook screenshot

Sports Interaction (SIA) is undoubtedly among the best sportsbooks available today in Ontario, and arguably across all of Canada. With over two decades of experience in the online betting industry, Sports Interaction is now a legal Ontario online sports betting site known for their competitive lines, 24/7 customer support, and exceptional coverage of sports leagues. From popular sports like football, basketball, and soccer to less mainstream ones, Sports Interaction makes sure there’s something for every sports bettor out there.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: Sports Interaction is the pinnacle of excellence when it comes to the best Ontario betting sites. With more than 36 sports and countless categories within each, Ontario sports fans of all leagues will find what they’re looking for here. SIA Ontario will have all of your typical big leagues, but they’re also an excellent source of niche sports like snooker, Gaelic Games, winter sports, and motor racing all year-round. Finally, Sports Interaction offers highly competitive odds in the Ontario sportsbook space. Punters should consider SIA a go-to source in the betting odds space when looking for highly competitive value.

💲 Security and Banking: Sports Interaction Ontario is a completely secure, trustworthy site with a number of encrypted banking options. Players can deposit and withdraw funds using Apple Pay, Interac e-transfer, Bank Wire Transfer, Instadebit, Mastercard, PaySafeCard, or Visa. Read more about SIA’s payment methods here.

🔥 Support and Experience: You can contact Sports Interaction through their 24/7 chat service or via their toll-free phone number at 1-888-922-5575. Sports Interaction cannot be contacted via email at this time. As far as user experience goes, Sports Interaction offers an exceptionally well laid-out platform that is easy to read for all players. Our team found they offer just enough information on the homepage without overwhelming the user, and they make it easy to locate and click into any section for more bets.

Special Feature: Sports interaction touts themselves as Canada’s most trusted sportsbook, which generally speaking is true. They recently launched a brand-new platform (in addition to a logo rebrand) after merging with the Entain Group, one of the largest betting companies on the planet. The merge has brought about better features to the platform, while keeping the Canadian-first features Sports Interaction is known for.

🚫 What They Could Improve: Players must be logged in to use basic features such as changing your odds format. This can be irritating for players deciding whether they wish to sign up or not, who are hoping to quickly compare odds. This is a new feature introduced with Sports Interaction’s rebrand — one we hope they’ll fix soon.

2. Tonybet Ontario

tonybet logo
  • Live betting on eSports is available
  • Great site for betting on eSports
  • Offers a sports VIP program
tonybet ontario sportsbook screenshot

Somewhat new to the Ontario betting scene, Tonybet has quickly scaled the ranks and come out as a top player in the Ontario sports betting market. Dating back to 2003 in the UK, Tonybet brings a wealth of industry experience in the casino space which they’ve now applied to sports betting. Known for their live betting market availability and e-sports wagering, they easily make our list of best Ontario betting sites. As far as Ontario betting sites go, Tonybet has a few blunders that come with the territory of foreign books. Our personal favourite is Canadian currency written in as 1000C$, which as Canadians, made our team do a double check that yes, they meant to write $1000 CAD.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: Tonybet is a soccer fan’s dream. While most Ontario sportsbooks showcase the top North American leagues (such as the NFL, NHL, MLB, etc) at the top of the homepage, Tonybet has a soft spot for soccer. At the time of writing we’re in the midst of football season (American football, that is), yet leagues like La Liga, Premier League, Brasileiro Serie A, and the Eurocup dominate the homepage. If you scroll a few times past the (seemingly endless) soccer leagues, you’ll find every other Ontario sport league under the sun.

💲 Security and Banking: Tonybet boasts typical deposit and withdrawal methods one would expect to see at an Ontario betting site, however they’re missing a few key players such as Apple Pay. Currently, bettors at Tonybet Ontario can use the following to make deposit and withdrawals: Visa, Mastercard, Interac, e-transfer, Payz, MiFINITY, instadebit, iDebit, Jeton, PaySafeCard, and Neosurf.

🔥 Support and Experience: Tonybet offers a stunning live betting odds section where players can watch the odds change for better or worse in real-time. Highlighted in either red or green, Tonybet’s live user experience makes them one of the best on the market. As for customer support, Tonybet players can get in touch via live 24/7 chat, or via email at

Special Feature: Tonybet goes above and beyond in the analytics department. For every individual game, Tonybet includes a drop down that displays previous match up stats between the two teams involved. For any bettors looking for some quick stats about their bet, Tonybet Ontario is an excellent, comprehensive source.

🚫 What They Could Improve: Some players may find the odds table to be fairly overwhelming. Tonybet shows a significant amount of data at once, which may hinder a bettor’s ability to quickly find the odds they’re looking for. Rather than a simple moneyline, over/under, spread format, Tonybet includes all popular betting markets listed along the top. Again, some bettors may enjoy this data driven format, but it includes a larger learning curve to grasp.

3. bet365 Ontario

  • Streamlined and Intuitive User Interface
  • Family Owned and Operated Since 1974
  • Broad Coverage of Global Betting Events
bet365 ontario sportsbook screenshot

Since joining the legal Ontario sports betting market, bet365 has rapidly and successfully established itself as the go-to sportsbook for Ontario bettors. Outside of Ontario, bet365 is known as one of the world’s most popular sportsbook brands. As a large and reputable organization, Ontario bettors can be confident that bet365 offers rapid payouts, large betting limits, competitive odds, and exceptional customer service should anything go wrong. Now with an Ontario presence to boot, Canadian bettors can get in on the action and be sure their bets are safe, secure, and backed by regulation.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: bet365 is easily our go-to source for competitive betting odds. If you think you’ve found the best competitive odds at another Ontario sportsbook, chances are high that bet365 has beat them out. Furthermore, bet365 is one of the most comprehensive books when it comes to league availability. Everything from the Super Bowl to politics to virtual darts makes the cut here. Unfortunately we have to dock bet365 marks for their speed in publishing odds. For instance at the time of writing, the next three days of NHL odds are available at BetVictor, while tomorrow’s game odds are nowhere to be found at bet365.

💲 Security and Banking: You don’t grow to be one of the biggest Ontario sportsbooks without some of the most secure, trustworthy banking options. Bet365 is an incredibly trustworthy name in the industry, and as such offers an array of payment options to it’s players including: Interac, Visa, Mastercard, Instadebit, Apple Pay, PaySafeCard, Payz, Click to pay, and by wire transfer.

🔥 Support and Experience: There is currently no way to call the support team at bet365 Ontario, however it’s very simple to get in touch with their team via 24/7 live chat, or by email at [email protected].

Special Feature: While bet365 doesn’t necessarily stand out for any one single feature, we do want to highlight their focus on innovation. For example, the Never Ordinary campaign bet365 recently launched highlights their focus on offering the most innovative sports betting experience out there.

🚫 What They Could Improve: While we appreciate bet365 for their deep level of security, we find it odd that placing a bet requires bettors to download a full separate location confirmation app. Boasting only a few stars in the App Store, this app is a little clunky and only serves the single purpose of confirming your bet. We think a brand as well-known as bet365 could, at the very least, merge the functionality of this app with their main betting app.

4. NorthStar Bets Ontario

  • Deposit with Interac e-Transfer
  • Canadian Owned and Operated
  • Experienced Management and Media Personalities
northstar bets Ontario sportsbook

If you’re looking for a sportsbook that is born and bred out of Ontario, then look no further than NorthStar Bets. NorthStar Bets is known for being a distinctly Ontario sports betting brand with extensive coverage of popular Ontario leagues. Previously, the sportsbook was only available within Ontario and therefore catered exclusively to this market. However, due to a recent expansion project, NorthStar is officially available across the country. As a fully licensed Ontario sportsbook, bettors can be sure that NorthStar is dependable when it comes to maintaining the standards and regulations set by Ontario’s gambling authorities. Sports Interaction goes above and beyond for their sports bettors, in that they also have a sports insights section with relevant news for Ontario sports betting. If you’re a sports bettor based in Ontario, we highly recommend looking at the lines offered at NorthStar bets.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: While slightly more limited than other Ontario betting sites, NorthStar Bets hits every major category a sports bettor could hope for. From the big four North American sports all the way to snooker, motor sports, winter sports, and even chess, NorthStar knocks it out of the park for leagues. We only dock them marks for missing novelty betting markets such as political betting. As far as their odds, NorthStar is pretty comparable to Sports Interaction — they typically have one or two markets that are highly competitive with market leaders, while other odds are nowhere near competitive. As always, we recommend shopping before you buy.

💲 Security and Banking: NorthStar sticks to the most common payment methods which will satisfy the average Ontario bettor. Fans of cryptocurrency, wire transfer, or e-wallets are out of luck here. Currently for deposits and withdrawals at NorthStar Bets, players can use: Visa, Mastercard, eCheck, iDebit, Interac, Instant Payments, and Payouts.

🔥 Support and Experience: While NorthStar bets claims to have a live chat feature, they have yet to properly link the page anywhere. Their support mentions includes a “click here for 24/7 live chat” link — which doesn’t go anywhere. If you’ve been struggling to find the live chat feature, we promise it’s not just you. So, in the meantime, players can contact NorthStar bets via phone at +1-855-218-7827, email at [email protected], or via ticket submission in the top right corner of their support page. As for the user experience, we love what NorthStar bets brings to the table. Sleek, simple, and easy to navigate, NorthStar is easy on the eyes and the mind when searching for those perfect odds.

Special Feature: While not exactly a “special feature”, we want to acknowledge NorthStar’s huge growth over the last year. While the sportsbook was originally an Ontario sports betting exclusive, they’ve expanded to include Spreads.ca into their mix which enabled them to expand across the country. Now with a Canada-wide sportsbook, NorthStar Bets is making waves on their mission to offer a premium gaming service to Canadians. And that’s a win.

🚫 What They Could Improve: The loading speed at NorthStar Bets Ontario is shockingly slow. Switching tabs between the sportsbook and casino section loads so slowly it makes a user question whether they changed tabs at all. While this isn’t a particularly pressing issue, it can certainly detract from the betting experience — particularly while trying to bet live.

5. Bet99 Ontario

  • Canadian-focused betting site
  • Clean and easy-to-navigate user interface
  • Plenty of deposit methods
bet99 ontario betting sites screenshot

Another excellent option for Ontario sports betting, Bet99 offers a few unique selling points that sets itself apart from the rest of the Canadian sportsbook crowd. Launched in 2019 to the Canadian market and regulated in 2022, Bet99 offers a large selection of popular sports leagues, and up and coming leagues like e-sports. Bet99 offers a particularly impressive selection of prop bets, which we found sets them apart from other Ontario sportsbooks available on the market. In addition, Bet99 really sets themselves apart through their highly user-friendly mobile app experience, something that not all sportsbooks have yet to master.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: Bet99 Ontario pulls their weight in terms of competitively priced betting odds. Right up there with the big dogs, Bet99 makes our list of Ontario sportsbooks we frequent when shopping for the best odds. What’s more, is Bet99 is a superstar for offering a large variety of uncommon, niche leagues we don’t see at every book.

💲 Security and Banking: Bet99 desperately needs an update to the number of payment options available. Currently, Bet99 banking options include Interac, Interac Desjardins, Instadebit, Instant bank transfer, Visa, and Mastercard. Not offering ApplePay, PaySafeCard, iDebit, Payz, or other common betting payment options seems like an interesting strategy we hope they’ll reconsider.

🔥 Support and Experience: Not to be confused with another well-known green and black global sports betting company (we’re not sure who chose the palette first), Bet99 offers players a sleek, easy to navigate betting experience that all players will enjoy. We like their in-depth navigation and thorough Ontario sports betting FAQ, both of which make for a simple, enjoyable experience. If you run into an issue, players can use the AI chat feature to quickly get help — located in the top right corner of Bet99’s site. If you prefer to speak to a real person, Bet99 customer support options include email at [email protected], or via live chat. If the previously-mentioned AI assistant runs into a snag, it will connect you to a person, 24/7.

⭐ Special Feature: Bet99 frequently ups the ante with their Daily Bet Boosts, a special feature players can find at the top of the Bet99 homepage. For those who are unfamiliar, books offering bet boosts offer better odds for the same level of risk. They do so by removing some of their cut, or The Vig, which returns more profit back to the bettor. Because of their deep Canadian focus, Bet99 also offers Canada-exclusive bet boosts for Ontario players.

🚫 What They Could Improve: Bet99 is currently only available in Canada. While this is unlikely to impact most Ontario bettors, it can be frustrating if trying to bet abroad. In addition, changing your location within Canada may lead to unintentional errors with their geolocator.

6. PowerPlay Ontario

  • Top Choice for Canadian Bettors
  • Serving Canadians Since 1997
  • Great LIVE Betting Platform
powerplay sportsbook ontario screenshot

Relatively new to the Ontario sports betting industry, PowerPlay is an Canadian owned and operated sportsbook built by Canadians, for Canadians. PowerPlay makes our top Ontario sportsbooks list for some key features they offer Ontario bettors, such as their 24/7 customer service availability, their specialized VIP program, and their live HD casino games. Furthermore, PowerPlay has more than 150 leagues available for Ontario sports bettors, offering some of the most extensive sports coverage in the market. Finally, we found PowerPlay offers excellent competitive lines so Canadian bettors can receive the same odds offered to larger betting markets.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: The PowerPlay Ontario sportsbook hits every major category of sports league. Their most popular sports include football, basketball, soccer, baseball and tennis. Scrolling further down, bettors can find a decently sized list of niche sports such as rugby, eSports, virtual sports, and motor sports. As for odds, players may occasionally find a value bet or a good deal, however we find PowerPlay tends to match the odd setters pretty closely. Overall, their odds are rarely competitive, but never much worse than the competition.

💲 Security and Banking: For banking options, PowerPlay offers all the usual suspects with the exception of cryptopay. Ontario betting sites that allow for crypto currencies for both deposits and withdrawal are few and far between, making PowerPlay one of the top choices for Crypto bettors. In all, the payment options available at PowerPlay include: Interac e-transfer, Visa, Mastercard, Cryptopay, and MuchBetter.

🔥 Support and Experience: While not as sleek in appearance as some of our other betting sites, PowerPlay knocks it out of the park on the customer service front. Their “support” tab is front and center, which we appreciate because nothing is more frustrating than trying to find the help section when you already need assistance. To contact the customer service team at PowerPlay Ontario, bettors can reach out via 24/7 live chat, Facebook, email at [email protected], or by phone at +1-833-578-1331. In addition, PowerPlay has one of the most thorough, easy-to-read betting FAQs we’ve seen, which also gives them major bonus points.

⭐ Special Feature: PowerPlay is an extremely solid choice for bettors also seeking a casino experience. Offering everything from live dealer tables, to slots, table games, blackjack, roulette, poker, and baccarat, the PowerPlay casino is a great choice for bettors hoping to branch out.

🚫 What They Could Improve:  Powerplay has a stunning lack of real estate actually dedicated to sports on each page. For instance, the homepage only features a handful of betting odds and leagues. Instead, the page is filled with casino ads and written copy that, let’s be honest, most bettors aren’t there to read. They also lack a search feature which is a major missed opportunity and makes it more difficult than it should be to find your favourite league.

7. BetVictor Ontario

  • Sports, Casino, Horses and Dogs
  • Sharp Odds and Competitive Prices
  • Legendary Sports Gambling Family
betvictor ontario sportsbook screenshot

BetVictor is a well-established sportsbook based out of Gibraltar that’s been in the sports betting game since the late 40’s. Though not originally Canadian-based, BetVictor was quick to join the legal Ontario betting market when regulation was introduced in 2022. Largely known for their sharp betting odds and more than 80 years of industry experience, BetVictor brings stand-out options to Ontario sports bettors looking for the most competitive odds. BetVictor’s long history started with horse betting, which is why they offer a best odds guarantee for horse racing today. Bettors based in Ontario, especially those after horse racing, should absolutely check out BetVictor to place some bets.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: BetVictor is a standard, all-around Ontario sportsbook with enough leagues and odds to keep most bettors interested. Their sports available include typical North American sports, in addition to more popular UK leagues as they originate from across the pond. Standouts include cricket, e-sports, Gaelic football, greyhounds, and hurling — sports you don’t see at every book. BetVictor particularly stands out of the crowd for publishing odds several days in advance of a game. They’re often our go-to when looking for odds more than 24 hours out. At the time of writing, they’re one of the only books with NHL odds published through the whole week.

💲 Security and Banking: With decades of history behind them, BetVictor highly values the privacy and security of their players. Because of their international nature, BetVictor accepts a wide range of payment options including: debit, credit, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafe, e-transfer, Mastercard, and FastFunds Withdrawal. These methods can be used for both deposits and withdrawals.

🔥 Support and Experience: BetVictor makes it straight simple to find their help and contact page at the bottom of the left-hand menu. You can get in touch with BetVictor via live chat, email at [email protected], by text at +44 7488 883406, or you can message them on Twitter. Their help page has a number of useful articles that will answer most common questions.

⭐ Special Feature: While BetVictor doesn’t necessarily have any one “special” feature, we want to emphasize their significant experience in the sports betting industry. This sportsbook has had tremendous influence on the UK betting space over the years, and their exemplary sportsbook management is now embedded in what they bring to Ontario sports betting. All in all, bettors can rest assured they’re dealing with a top-of-the-line book.

🚫 What They Could Improve: We think BetVictor is overdue for an appearance update. While we love their mobile site, their desktop site is reminiscent of an early 2000’s aesthetic, BetVictor simply doesn’t stack up to the competition when it comes to experience. We appreciate the clean layout of their odds, but the black site background, somewhat lacking header, and casino games dominating the right panel altogether feels dated, and sums up to a lackluster experience.

8. Proline Ontario: The Original Ontario Sports Gambling Site

  • A trusted name in Ontario
  • Serving Ontarians since 2021
  • A simple and clean Sportsbook
proline screenshot

Next on our list is Proline Ontario — otherwise known as their original Ontario online sports betting site. While new, privatized online sportsbooks in Ontario are incredibly fun for bettors to get in on, the Ontario betting community should be familiar with Proline Sportsbook, as for many years it was the best sportsbook Ontario had, and was the only legal way to bet on sports in the province. Many think of Ontario sports betting as synonymous with Proline, but this is no longer the case since the launch of Ontario’s regulated sports betting market on April 4, 2022. Now, as we have discussed in this article, Ontarians can access a huge variety of sportsbooks and odds from private entities.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: Proline has all the major leagues and sports Ontario sports betting sites should have — minus quite a few novelty or niche leagues. Notably leagues Proline is lacking include any virtual or e-sports, Gaelic games, Aussie rules, fantasy, lacrosse, handball, horses, or greyhounds. Proline Ontario, instead, is hyper focused on the leagues that most Ontario bettors are interested in like football, soccer, baseball, hockey, and basketball.

💲 Security and Banking: Proline is unfortunately on the low side of number of payment methods accepted. At this time, players can deposit or withdraw funds at Proline+ using Visa Debit, Visa Credit, MasterCard, and Debit MasterCard. They also allow bettors to use gift cards, but only at in-store locations. On the plus side, you can be absolutely certain your payments are securely encrypted.

🔥 Support and Experience: Proline+ boasts a sleek, black and green style that mimics our best sportsbooks on this list. We’re big fans of the Proline+ user experience which has garnered them an overall good reviews score from our team. Everything on their site is easy to find and fairly straightforward, and they have tons of information on where to find them in-store (if that’s your thing). If you need to get in touch with Proline, you can do so via their live chat feature, or by phone at 1-855-978-7529. Their live chat is available in English 24/7, or in French from 8am to 4pm EST.

⭐ Special Feature: Proline is run by Ontario’s provincial lottery corporation, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, which means their not an online exclusive business. The Proline+ sports betting platform can be accessed at over 10,000 retail locations across Ontario, or online using the PROLINE+ website or app. You can also find out more about Proline by visiting our Ontario Lottery and Gaming Company page.

🚫 What They Could Improve: We’d love to see a greater variety of sports on offer at Proline+. In 2023, the Ontario sports betting business is highly competitive, and we expect sportsbooks to offer odds on nearly everything. While we understand there are some sports that are more popular than others in Ontario, Canada is a highly diverse country that has a wide variety of sports interests. Sportsbooks in 2023 should cater to them.

9. Betway Ontario

  • Exceptional Live Chat Customer Service
  • Unique In-Game Ticket Cash Out Options
  • Ample and Secure Bankroll Funding Methods
betway screenshot compliant

Betway Ontario sports betting site is another excellent option now available to Canadian sports bettors. Betway Canada offers sports betting, casino games, a live casino, and Vegas-style games. Betway not only offers sports typically found on online Ontario sportsbooks like hockey, football, and baseball, but they also have niche sports like volleyball, e-sports, and bandy. Betway offers some competitive odds, though other books are worth comparing as sometimes Betway Ontario falls short in this area. Nonetheless, we’re confident Ontario bettors will find every league they could hope for at Betway.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: Betway offers highly competitive odds and is an excellent source to find valuable bets. Typically, Betway will offer higher odds on either the favourite or the underdog compared against other sportsbooks in Ontario. Overall, we recommend taking a look at them before you place your stake. As for sports leagues, Betway offers just about every sport a bettor is interested in. As an international betting site, they have a wide availability of league coverage to appeal to all bettors.

💲 Security and Banking: Betway goes above and beyond in the banking methods department. Largely due to their international nature, Betway makes sure they cater to all deposit and withdrawal preferences (although they’re still missing Cryptocurrency). Currently, payment options offered at Betway include: Interac, PaySafeCard, Instadebit, iDebit, Debit, Visa, Mastercard, Neosurf, E-Cheque, and Payz.

🔥 Support and Experience: Overall, we like the Betway website and app experience. Live betting is clearly highlighted along the top navigation, in addition to daily boosted odds. The website is easy to read, easy to find what you’re looking for, and uses greys to highlight different information. As for customer service options, Betway doesn’t make it easy to get in touch. For Ontario bettors, they offer a live chat option in the footer of the website. We did find the email [email protected], however this seems to be exclusive to United States visitors. Otherwise, bettors can get in touch via the FAQ section. Find an article that is most relevant to your question, then scroll to the bottom and select “yes” to the question “do you need more help?”. From there, you’ll be given the option to contact their team.

⭐ Special Feature: Betway Ontario offers a unique in-game ticket cash out option. Whenever you see the cash out option beside your bet, you can opt to take your winnings early or cut your losses before the end of the game. This is applicable to a number of pre-game bets in addition to in-play betting. Betway also allows players to cash out a portion of their stake or winnings, while leaving another portion staked. It really puts the bettor in control, which we always appreciate.

🚫 What They Could Improve: Every Betway page on Google automatically redirects to their Canadian promotions page — which, hey, is fine if that’s what we’re looking for. For bettors looking for something quickly through Google, you may find this strange system a little frustrating. Essentially if you’re looking for something specific — like their deposit methods — you have to jump through an extra hoop to get there. We understand Betway wants to ensure Canadians end upon the Canadian site, but we think this systems feels a little lazy and could be improved.

10. BetMGM Ontario

  • Established name
  • Online casino and sportsbook
  • Plenty of deposit methods
betmgm ontario

As a long standing operator of one of the best casinos in Las Vegas, BetMGM has jumped into the sports betting market online as a sub brand of MGM Entertainment. Now joining the Ontario sports betting fold, this world class sportsbook brings with it decades of experience from its casino operations. As one of the top performing sportsbooks in the United States, BetMGM has brought an exceptional user experience to its Ontario sports betting app and website. In addition, they offer a number of unique features for bettors to get in on parlays, such as the option to edit future legs of a parlay and a tool that makes selecting parlays simple. As a legal operator in Ontario, we highly recommend bettors check out BetMGM Ontario.

🏈 Sports Leagues and Odds: BetMGM Ontario is yet another site that falls into the category of: offers a lot of sports, but not all of them. Largely, BetMGM is missing virtual sports, e-sports, Aussie rules, and novelty categories like political betting. That said, they do include entertainment categories like the Academy Awards. Where we give them extra points is that within each sport they do offer, they cover every leagues under the sun. Whether you’re into football, volleyball, boxing, or darts, they’ll have the right league for you.

💲 Security and Banking: BetMGM offers common payment methods for deposits and withdrawals including prepaid cards, debit and credit cards, e-wallets, and Interac e-transfers. That said, payment methods available to you may differ based on your location. Once you sign in, you can check which deposit methods you can use by navigating to the cashier section of your profile.

🔥 Support and Experience: BetMGM Ontario is a classic sportsbook with an easy to navigate, black and white layout we think all bettors will enjoy. They expertly use contrast and colour to deliver a very visually accessible site. As for their customer support options, bettors can reach out to BetMGM Ontario very easily in the top right corner of their sportsbook. We give them huge props for this as other sportsbooks tend to hide the “contact us” section — a practice that is generally frowned upon. To get in touch with BetMGM Ontario, you can submit a ticket or use their 24/7 live chat feature. They do not have a direct email or phone number available.

⭐ Special Feature: BetMGM Ontario is a solid choice for live bettors. Not all sportsbooks offer live streaming events, but at BetMGM you’ll get coverage of all the action as it unfolds. We’re big fans of live betting feeds direct on each sportsbook so bettors know their own feed isn’t behind the action. When live betting is underway, odds can change in the blink of an eye. A bit of lag from your own watching set up just isn’t going to cut it when trying to nail down the best odds.

🚫 What They Could Improve: The BetMGM app is currently only available in Ontario, which — fair enough — we understand that BetMGM values compliance. Unfortunately, that can be pretty frustrating for any Ontarians who may be abroad (or simply one province over!) trying to access their bets. At this time, most other betting sites have built an app for the rest of Canada, so we’re surprised to see a name as reputable as BetMGM overlook this simple fix.

Yes, Ontario sports betting is now legal and regulated. While sports betting has never been strictly illegal anywhere in Canada since the 1970’s, there have not been any specific regulatory rules added to the Ontario sports betting market in recent years. Largely what this means for Ontario bettors is a greater sense of security and peace of mind when betting.

Regulated Ontario sports betting sites have been been approved by the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission to hold a license in the Ontario sports betting market. The majority of these online sports betting sites are official sports betting partners of Canada Sports Betting, and are highly reputable books to gamble with. For bettors, this means you can rest assured your bets are safe, you will be paid out winning promptly. and you are protected under the regulations set out by the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission.

Yes, single game sports betting is now a form of legal sports betting in Ontario. On August 27th, 2021, the Canadian government passed bill C-218 which decriminalized single game sports betting at the federal level. Although each province is allowed to set their own sports betting rules, they must abide by federal level laws first. When sports betting was legalized at the federal level, it enabled each province to introduce single-game betting at their discretion. Within a year of federal legalization, all 10 provinces promptly introduced single game betting options to their government-run sportsbooks. Due to resource constraints, not all territories have access to legal online sports betting.

To date, Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission is the only provincial governing body to introduce regulation for private sportsbooks. Private book regulation enables Ontario to collect tax revenue from the sportsbooks operating within the province. It also allows the Ontario AGCO to legally protect players should any sportsbook refuse to pay out winnings, or other forms of illegal activity. Today, all forms of sports betting are now legal in Ontario, including single game sports betting, parlays, and more.

Finally, for Canadian bettors located outside of Ontario, they are free to bet on any sportsbook that operates in the grey market. While the grey market may sound unappealing to some Canadian bettors, the online sportsbooks we recommend at Canada Sports Betting are legitimate and secure. Just because your province may not regulate sports betting, does not mean you can’t safely and profitably engage in this activity. Generally, grey-market sportsbooks are based in the UK or the United States, and are regulated in the country which they are based. The freedom of the internet allows Canadian bettors to access these sites — but being grey-market, the books do not contribute to the Canadian economy through tax revenue.

As with any form of gambling, it’s important to do your research and make wise decisions before spending money. If you’d like more information about sports betting in other Canadian provinces, refer to the links below:

How To Start Betting in Ontario

For Ontario sports bettors, it’s easy to get in on the best sports betting action available today in the province. Because the market is fully regulated, it’s important to select a sportsbook that is licensed within Ontario so you can ensure your winnings are paid out accurately and quickly. We highly recommend selecting a sportsbook listed in this article, and we detail how to select the best sportsbook for your needs below.

1. Choose a Sportsbook and Create an Account.

After selecting your preferred Ontario sportsbook, you can easily get started by creating an account. When you go to create an account with a licensed Ontario sportsbook, you’ll have to download a software called GeoComply which confirms that you are located within Ontario. GeoComply is an industry standard software, and is perfectly safe to download. Its sole purpose is to allow sportsbooks to abide by regulations, and by downloading the software you’ll expedite your ability to withdraw winnings.

2. Confirm Age and Identify.

Once you’ve created an account and verified your location, you’ll have to upload a piece of ID which confirms your age. You must be of legal gambling age in your province of residence in order to bet, which in Ontario is 19+. To verify your identity, you’ll be prompted to upload a photo of a government-issued piece of ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. Only after you’ve verified your identity will you be eligible to start betting, so we recommend getting this step done and over with.

3. Make Your First Deposit.

Once you’ve successfully completed all of the steps above, you’ll be able to make your first deposit. To make a deposit, simply select your payment method of choice, fill in the amount you’d like to add to your betting wallet, and click confirm. Most sportsbooks require bettors to load money into their wallet before betting, rather than pay as you go. This helps the sportsbook ensure you have enough money ready to go to cover the cost of your stake, minimizing their risk.

4. Compare Odds.

From there, we recommend bettors compare odds at a few sportsbooks before selecting a bet. Most sports bettors will have accounts at a few different sportsbooks on the go in case they find better odds elsewhere. Bettors should always shop around for odds before locking in a bet, as you may spend more at one sportsbook than another for the same promised winnings. The same way you would price compare before making any large purchase, betting odds are no different.

5. Select Your Bets.

Finally, you’re ready to select your bets. Navigate to the sports section of the book and select the sport, league, or market of your choice. From there, simply click on the odds you’re interested in and they’ll be added to your bet slip. Your bet slip should always auto populate when you select odds. Before you confirm your bets, you’ll have the option to toggle them as a parlay if you so choose. When you’re ready, double check your chosen odds and click confirm.

6. Withdraw Winnings.

If your bet was successful, your winnings should be deposited into your account within 5 days at most. The majority of Ontario sportsbooks will deposit winnings within 1 to 24 hours of your win being confirmed. From there, you’ll be able to select your withdrawal method of choice, which does not have to be the same as your deposit method. Some withdrawal methods can also take up to 5 days to deposit to your account, so make sure you take this into consideration.

How To Choose The Best Ontario Sportsbook

Every Ontario betting website is different in a number of ways, and what makes the best Ontario sportsbook will come down to the individual bettor. To choose a sportsbook, start by considering what’s important to you, what’s a non-negotiable, and what you don’t really care about, starting with the following criteria:

1. Sports Leagues and Betting Markets

Some Ontario betting sites offer a more extensive list of odds on certain sports, while some offer markets in fringe sports like table tennis and curling. For that reason we recommend Ontario sports bettors start by comparing the leagues and markets available to make sure you’re favourites are listed on your chosen betting site. Particularly because odds and markets can change on a weekly basis, so don’t assume they’re at every book. The good news is that you’re not limited to one sportsbook — if you see good odds on multiple sites, you can sign up for as many as you like! Just make sure you stick to our Ontario partner sites listed above for the best deals and odds.

2. Deposit and Withdrawal Methods

Sportsbooks are not all the same when it comes to depositing money and receiving payouts. If you’re looking to deposit via debit or credit card, you should be fine betting with the majority of Ontario betting sites available. Unfortunately, only certain sportsbooks will accept other methods of payment such as bitcoin, e-wallets, PayPal, or other electronic transfer methods. Check out this link for the best deposit methods in Ontario.

The most important thing to work out is how quickly sportsbooks will pay your winnings — there’s nothing worse than celebrating a big win and waiting days for the money to come through. Most sportsbooks generally pay out winnings between 1 hour to 5 days, so double check the payout speed if that’s important to you.

3. Customer Service and User Experience

if you’re new to Ontario sports betting, trying to navigate a book can be a fairly complicated task. What makes it worse is if you can’t find what you’re looking for due to a poor sportsbook design. Sportsbooks that feel cluttered or messy, or plainly have too much going on may make you feel overwhelmed when you’re trying to bet. Sports betting should be a fun activity, not stressful, so be sure to choose a sportsbook that you understand easily.

Furthermore, make sure to consider the availability of customer service contact options, and how the support team has been rated by other bettors. Things can go wrong with technology all the time, so being able to reach out to a dedicated service team when you need help can greatly reduce any betting frustration.

4. Live Betting and Streaming Services

Finally, be sure to assess the live betting options available at each sportsbook before you commit. Some sportsbooks offer live streaming as part of their betting service, which ensures the bets being shown line up exactly with the event you’re watching. You don’t want a lag in your stream to make you miss out on a cash out opportunity. Some sportsbooks will offer more markets, better odds, and more sports for live betting than others, so we recommend checking out the live betting options at each book if this is important to you.

Betting is 100% legal and regulated in Ontario. bettors can access sportsbooks legally through in-person location, or through online sportsbooks. Brick-and-mortar casinos are conducted and managed by the OLG and its partners. Once you venture into the online gambling world, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and iGaming Ontario act as the province’s two regulators. This includes dozens of approved single-event betting operators. However, some popular platforms have not been approved for legal play in Ontario just yet; keep reading with us to find out who is, and isn’t, approved.

What is the legal gambling age in Ontario? Who can bet in Ontario?

To bet legally in Ontario you will have to confirm that you are above the age of 19 with proof of identity – a requirement for all AGCO-approved platforms. This usually means taking a photo of a drivers license or another form of photo ID with your address.
You will also need to physically bet from within Ontario. This means your geolocation should identify that you are within Ontario borders. Even if you are an Ontarian, if you play from somewhere else like Manitoba or Quebec, some operators may rescind your access. On the flip side, if you’re not from Ontario, operators will allow you to play while visiting.

While some unregulated platforms may provide the option, no AGCO-approved sportsbook currently accepts Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Which Ontario Betting sites accept Paypal?

Using PayPal is one of the best ways to fund your online betting bankrolls. It is fast, discreet, and saves you the trouble of having to deal with all the intricacies that most banks require. However, the majority of regulated platforms don’t accept PayPal at the moment, and instead opt for the more traditional credit card and Interac methods. That doesn’t mean you’re completely out of luck, though –  FanDuel, PointsBet, and UniBet all accept PayPal. Alternatively, you can use your PayPal to deposit to a third-party account like Entropay. The only downside to this is the fee you will be charged for depositing and withdrawing. If using PayPal is your only choice and you want to use a non-PayPal platform, you should look into this workaround. Otherwise, use another method.

How to read betting odds?

How do odds work? The simplest way to understand betting odds is to imagine these as the implied probability of success. Betting odds manifest in three ways:
Decimal Odds: Most popular in Canada, these odds are the simplest to calculate. Take your wager and multiply it by the decimal for your potential winnings.
Moneyline odds: Also called American odds, these manifest as two kinds of numbers: plus and minus. The plus indicates how much you win on a $100 wager while the minus shows how much you need to wager to win $100.
Fractional odds: Like decimal odds, these indicate how much you win by dividing your wager by the fraction.
If you want to determine the implied probability of the odds, use this formula:
(Odds / 1) + Odds.

How to compare odds?

Before you bet, you should compare betting odds. You can compare odds by going to multiple online sportsbooks and looking at their betting lines. Or even better, you can go to Canada Sports Betting’s odds page where we have a table that lists the betting odds listed by each sportsbook. Usually, online sports betting odds stay relatively within the same range. A handful of larger sportsbooks will be the first to open the betting odds, which will set the market for the rest to follow. The odds change depending on how much action (how much money is wagered) on a particular side of a betting market or event. Other factors such as injuries, weather, and trades, can also cause a betting line to shift. When you have more than one sportsbook, you can get the best possible odds. Some books will set their betting odds lower or higher than others.

How to identify the favourite or the underdog?

You can identify the favourite from the underdog based on who has the higher odds to win. Favourites have a higher probability of success thus have higher odds. In betting odds, the favourites have a smaller payout and thus have smaller numbers.
In a win-or-lose scenario (no draws), favourites usually manifest like this:
Decimal: 1.80 or lower
American: -125 or lower
Fractional: 4/5 or lower
You will need to bet more to win less when it comes to favourites in a win-or-lose scenario, while you win more for less while betting the underdog. It all correlates to their chances of success.

What is the most popular type of bet in Ontario?

There are many ways to bet, but the most popular type of bet in Ontario is the “straight-up” bet or the “moneyline” wager. This is when you bet on an outright winner. As a straight-up bet, the moneyline is available for almost every type of sport where there is a head-to-head aspect. Betting on favourites will yield less payout than betting on underdogs. But betting on favourites has a higher chance of a payout.
Next to the straight-up bet is the point spread. This is like the moneyline with an added caveat: a handicap. You bet on a team to “cover the spread,” meaning they will win once the spread is added or deducted from them. Different from the moneyline, the point spread usually has close to even odds. You get the same (or almost the same) from betting either the favourite or underdog. This is another popular type of bet in Ontario.

Why can’t I bet on the outcome of multiple games offline in Ontario?

Betting limitations will keep you from betting on the outcome of multiple games for offline sports betting in Ontario. Proline will only provide you with a limited selection of games to bet on. The catch with Proline is the “tie” option, which is essentially a close game between both teams. This added category is what makes betting Proline complicated and why your odds of winning are even smaller. A “tie” is decided when the result is within five points for basketball, three points for football, or within one run in baseball. So even if your teams win their outcomes, they need to do so by more than the point and run totals listed above. Tough. And the payout isn’t even as good as betting online.

Can I bet on the outcome of multiple games online?

You can bet on the outcome of multiple games online at most sportsbooks. This is also commonly known as “parlays” when you bet multiple outcomes into one collective wager. While many professional gamblers consider this an amateur move, it can still pay off in a big way. The way this works is you take one bet on an outcome, such as the New York Yankees beating the Blue Jays straight-up, and bet it together with another, like Bianca Andreescu winning her first-round tennis match, straight-up.
You will get a better payout, if and only if, all your outcomes win. There is also added risk here as your probability of success decreases with each outcome you add. But the payout will adjust to match this. You can bet multiple outcomes into a single bet anywhere from eight to a dozen or more. Of course, the more outcomes you put, the more unlikely you will cash this bet. So bet a small amount and you can still win a lot! Think of it like winning the lottery.

Who makes the best odds for bettors in Ontario?

Finding the best odds for bettors in Ontario can be tricky and there are no easy answers. The best way to find out is to familiarize yourself with the different sportsbooks. Each book posts a different set of odds, although most will set odds that are similar to 90% of the rest. You can find a list of some betting odds from popular sportsbooks here at Canada Sports Betting. Our table lists these odds side-by-side so you don’t have to go to these books separately to see. However, there are hundreds of different books so you may take a while to go “odds shopping” online. Another tip is to find which sportsbooks constantly offer better odds than the rest. Some books, as part of their marketing, will intentionally do this to get more bettors to sign up with them.

How to find the best odds for betting?

To find the best odds for betting, you will have to look through each online sportsbook or check our odds pages to find the odds listed for you. There are hundreds of sportsbooks and it can take you a long time to find the best betting odds. Other than using our tables and widgets, there is no shortcut to finding the best odds. It takes a while to do so usually through familiarity with the books.
After you’ve familiarized yourself with odds shopping, you will notice which sportsbooks have better odds than the others. This is why it’s useful to open an account at more than one book. Also, pay attention to the betting trends. The more action (wagers being bet on) an odd, the steeper it gets. So you will need to move quickly to find the best odds for favourites or popular underdogs.
