Who will make the Playoffs in NFL?

Who will make the Playoffs in NFL?

After the 49ers were shocked by the Falcons last week, their prayers were answered over the weekend, as the Arizona Cardinals went to Seattle and somehow took down the Seahawks. Thanks to that Arizona win, San Francisco's Super Bowl odds are alive once again and they are looking to win the NFC West title.

Elsewhere in the NFL, the Eagles took it to the Cowboys on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. Because of this, their NFL odds to win the NFC East and make the playoffs have skyrocketed.

In this piece, we take a look at how things are looking ahead of Week 17 and which teams are on pace to make the NFL playoffs.

Predictions after Week 16

Have you caught your breath yet from the weekend's action, NFL fans? It was truly one to remember, with some upsets really changing how things are looking.

It goes without saying, but the Cardinals stunning the Seahawks has completely shaken up the outlook of the NFC. The 49ers are now in poll position to win the division.

San Francisco and Seattle will meet this Sunday for the NFC West crown. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, Chris Carson suffered a fracture in his hip and will now miss the rest of the season. It's a major injury blow for the Hawks, no doubt.

Over in the NFC East, the Eagles took down the Cowboys in Philly, now giving them the upper hand to win the division. If Dallas misses the playoffs, it all but seals Jason Garrett's fate with the team. Jerry Jones will surely fire him sooner than later.

Here's our look after Week 16 on who we think will make the playoffs:

Predictions after Week 15

Was it the surprise of the season? Over in Santa Clara on Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons rolled into town and defeated the 49ers in a dramatic finish. After an Austin Hooper touchdown was ruled incomplete, Matt Ryan and Co. stayed composed.

With a couple of seconds left on the clock, Ryan hit Julio Jones for the game-winning score. It was nothing short of remarkable, especially after it was originally deemed he was tackled short. With Seattle taking down Carolina, the Seahawks are now in the driver's seat to win the division.

As for the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, the race for the NFC East championship remains ever-so close. The Eagles came from behind to beat the Redskins, while the Cowboys turned plenty of heads with the way they performed against the L.A. Rams in their victory.

Predictions after Week 14

Foxboro was PACKED on Sunday for the elite battle between the Chiefs and Patriots. And while New England was able to make things interesting late, Kansas City escaped with a tough 23-16 win.

The Chiefs dominated play in the first half, with Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill making big play after big play.

Over in the NFC West, the 49ers are back on top of the division and conference after a Robbie Gould field goal as time expired stunned the Saints for a 48-46 win in one of the wildest games we've seen this year.

With Seattle losing to L.A., the pressure is back on Seattle to try and play catch up. Speaking of pressure, the Cowboys lost once again, this time to the Chicago Bears. Their playoff hopes keep shrinking, as does Jason Garrett's job security.

So, which teams are in the driver's seat to make it to the postseason?

Predictions after Week 13

It seems like any challenge that is presented in front of the Baltimore Ravens, they are able to push it over with relative ease. That's what we saw on Sunday, as Jimmy Garoppolo and Co. didn't have enough moxie to pull off an upset against Lamar Jackson, John Harbaugh and Co.

Over in Houston, the Texans made quite the statement, as they dominated the New England Patriots for the majority of their Sunday Night Football tilt.

The Pats made things interesting late, but it's clear their offense is struggling to gel. What's going on with Tom Brady and his teammates on that side of the ball?

In the NFC, the Green Bay Packers made easy work of the New York Giants and are back in control of the North standings after the Vikings suffered a road loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaking of Seattle, they're now tied with SF at the top of the NFC West. Russell Wilson, Pete Carroll and the gang may have what it takes to win the division.

So, which teams are in the driver's seat to make it to the postseason?

Here's our look after Week 13 on who we think will make the playoffs:

Predictions after Week 12

The LA Rams had a chance so silence all the talk of the Baltimore Ravens being the best team in the NFL, but they failed to do so miserably. Led by the strong play of Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram, the Ravens dismantled LA 45-6.

Who saw that coming? Elsewhere in the AFC, the Texans earned an enormous win on Thursday night against the Colts, which now has them at the top of the AFC South standings once again. The Raiders also suffered a horrific loss to the Jets, which has certainly changed the Wild Card picture. With the Browns winning three straight, watch out for them.

In NFC play, the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers posted convincing wins over the Eagles and Packers, respectively. Green Bay looked completely lost against SF and is now tied at 8-3 with the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North.

Predictions after Week 11

At this point in the campaign, both teams and MVP candidates are starting to separate themselves, that's been clear. For Lamar Jackson, he's no doubt in that MVP conversation after powering the Ravens to yet another huge win.

On Sunday, Baltimore (8-2) had its way with Deshaun Watson and the Texans, coming away with a 41-7 win. In that victory, Jackson threw for 222 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 86 yards on the ground.

Over in the NFC, the Cowboys earned a hard-fought win over the Lions to improve to 6-4. With the Eagles sputtering at home to the Patriots, Dallas now once again holds a one-game lead over Philly in the NFC West standings.

Teams like the Vikings, Bills and Raiders also were victorious, strengthening their chances of making it to the playoffs.

While this year has been filled with amazing games and action, Week 10 sure is going to be tough to top. We saw a little bit of everything over the weekend and on Monday, as there were loads of upsets and games that came down to the wire.

Speaking of upsets, props to the Browns, Titans, Steelers and Dolphins, who all posted head-turning wins over the Bills, Chiefs, Rams and Colts, respectively.

For the Seahawks, their confidence has to be through the roof, as they're now 8-2 on the year after defeating San Francisco, which is now 8-1. Seattle now has a monstrous chance to steal the NFC West from their rivals.

Predictions after Week 9

While the race for the postseason might be heating up, several players are also making strong claims for the MVP award. In Week 9, both Jimmy Garoppolo and Russell Wilson only strengthened their cases.

For Jimmy G, he now has San Francisco at 8-0. Meanwhile for Wilson, his five-touchdown performance against Tampa Bay helped Seattle come away with a thrilling 40-34 overtime victory.

With these two organizations at the top of the NFC West, next Monday's showdown will be must-see television, as Seattle will look to hand San Francisco its first loss.

Meanwhile over in the AFC, we've got to show plenty of love to the Ravens, who humbled Tom Brady and the Patriots in a 37-20 win. Jackson is also playing like an MVP. It's time to take this team seriously.

When will people start respecting the San Francisco 49ers? The time is definitely now. While some may be skeptical of the NFC West team, you can't doubt them after they beat Carolina 51-13. a statement win for sure.

In the NFC South, talk about a happy return for Drew Brees, who had missed several weeks with a thumb injury. In his first game back, the veteran QB tossed for three touchdowns and led the Saints to a 31-9 win.

Over in the AFC South, Deshaun Watson and the Texans were able to avoid an upset from the Raiders in a 27-24 win. The victory has them 1/2 game behind the Colts in the AFC South standings and one game up on Jacksonville. The Jags and Texans will meet in Week 9.

Predictions after Week 7

Week 7 had a little bit of everything, but some star performances sure stood out. We’ve got to start with Aaron Rodgers, who threw for five touchdowns and ran for another. With the Bears looking worse with each passing week, Green Bay’s hold on the NFC North is looking strong.

Meanwhile, the Ravens only strengthened their case in the AFC North after upsetting the Seahawks in Seattle. Lamar Jackson continues to be one of the best athletes in the NFL. Can they end up shocking the Patriots down the road should they meet?

Over in the NFC East, the primetime showdown between the Cowboys and Eagles was dominated by Dallas. Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas D proved to be too much for Carson Wentz and the rest of Philly.

When taking a look at all the teams in the NFL, it’s getting easier and easier to pick out who will be postseason-bound. We offer up our picks for division winners/Wild Card squads below.

Predictions after Week 6

While there were certainly some favorites who dominated play over the weekend, there were still some head-turning upsets in Week 6

As fans already know, the Chiefs let one slip away at Arrowhead Stadium against the Houston Texans. The KC offense simply could not get into a rhythm. Elsewhere, the Green Bay Packers were able to survive a close one against the Detroit Lions.

The main takeaway from this game was that the Packers offense needs to get healthy. Aaron Rodgers was without Davante Adams due to turf toe, while fellow receiver Geronimo Allison missed a large chunk of the game due to an upper-body injury. Rodgers needs both guys at 100 percent ASAP.

As for the NFC East, the Cowboys were stunned by the New York Jets, who welcomed back quarterback Sam Darnold behind center. Dallas needs to wake up quick, especially with the Eagles coming to town for a Week 7 battle.

As for the league as a whole, which teams should have postseason aspirations? In this piece we break down our favorites to win their respective divisions.

Predictions after Week 5

Week 5 of the NFL campaign ended with an absolute bang, as the San Francisco 49ers hosted Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr. and the Cleveland Browns.

Well, Jimmy Garoppolo, Matt Breida and the SF defense stole the show, dominating the Browns, who entered the game fresh off a dominant win over the Baltimore Ravens.

That of course wasn't the only statement made, as the Indianapolis Colts shocked the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, while Teddy Bridgewater and the Saints won another game, this time taking down the Buccaneers, who had just beaten the LA Rams.

Yup, it's safe to say there are no more guarantees in the NFL regular season anymore. Well, unless you've played the Redskins early on. The Patriots destroyed Washington 33-7. Less than 24 hours after the loss, the team fired head coach Jay Gruden. Simply brutal times in Washington D.C.

With all of that being said, here's our updated look at how we think the playoff picture will turn out.

Here's our early look after Week 5 on who we think will make the postseason:

Predictions after Week 4

Week 4 of the NFL provided us with countless surprises. Plenty of underdogs came out of nowhere to take down some powerful teams in primetime.

The biggest upset had to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers going to Los Angeles and crushing the Rams, 55-40. Jameis Winston threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns, complete exposing LA's supposed stoud defense.

Meanwhile, the Panthers stunned the Texans in Houston, and the Saints took down the Cowboys without Drew Brees running the offense.

Meanwhile, both the Chiefs and Patriots survived major scares against the Lions and Bills, respectively. With all of that being said, here's our updated look at how we think the playoff picture will turn out.

Predictions after Week 2

This past weekend, injuries dominated the headlines, as star quarterback Drew Brees went down with a thumb injury, while Ben Roethlisberger suffered a serious elbow injury. Brees is expected to miss around six weeks, while Big Ben is out for the year.

Obviously, this has a major impact on the postseason odds, as the Saints will now start Teddy Bridgewater and it will now be the Mason Rudolph show for the Steelers.

This will certainly affect both team's postseason odds, as we are know predicting Pittsburgh and New Orleans to miss the playoffs.
