The Toronto Raptors return home after a 117–94 loss to Minnesota on Sunday, while the Orlando Magic arrive following a 111–102 win over New York that same day. Toronto hosts Orlando at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 28, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET in this NBA regular-season matchup. Our Magic vs. Raptors predictions are backing three full-game player unders: Franz Wagner’s points, Scottie Barnes’ made threes, and Desmond Bane’s made threes. Each team has played just three regular-season games, and Bane’s recent shooting volume gives us particular reason to keep stakes modest.
- Franz Wagner Under 23.5 Points
- Scottie Barnes Under 1.5 Threes Made
- Desmond Bane Under 2.5 Threes Made
Franz Wagner under 23.5 points
We’re backing a productive scoring night for Wager that stops short of 24 points.
His opening results fit that call. Wagner scored 22 against Atlanta on Oct. 21, 18 against Minnesota on Oct. 23, and 23 against New York on Oct. 25. He stayed below this threshold in all three games, adding 13 rebounds and nine assists against the Knicks to show how much he can contribute without beating this points line.
That latest performance also carries a warning. Orlando trailed New York 86–76 with 9:20 remaining before outscoring the Knicks 40–27 in the fourth quarter. Wagner scored 21 of his 23 points in that period after a 1-for-10 start from the field. A cold start doesn’t necessarily keep him down.
Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs are out, while Anthony Black is questionable for personal reasons. Orlando could need more scoring from Wagner, but that also means he’ll draw Toronto’s best defenders throughout the evening.
We’re taking Wagner Under 23.5 full-game points as a small lean. A finish of 23 or fewer wins; 24 or more loses.
Scottie Barnes under 1.5 threes made
Barnes’ perimeter production gives us a way to back an under without needing him to struggle offensively.
Barnes made one three against Chicago on Oct. 21 and one against Washington on Oct. 23 while scoring 23 and 28 points, respectively. He then made none against Minnesota on Oct. 25. Both of his productive opening scoring nights would have cashed this particular under.
Across those three regular-season games, Barnes converted two of 14 three-point attempts. The makes support the pick, but the attempts are a reminder that he’s willing to shoot. We don’t need a huge change in his outside game for two conversions to spoil the wager.
Kawhi Leonard is out with a knee issue, potentially changing Toronto’s offensive responsibilities. That doesn’t establish a specific increase in Barnes’ perimeter opportunities, but it’s a meaningful risk alongside the price.
Our pick is Barnes Under 1.5 full-game threes made. Zero or one wins; two or more loses.
Desmond Bane under 2.5 threes made
Bane Under 2.5 made threes is our higher-uncertainty play.
Bane shot 3-for-10 from three against Atlanta on Oct. 21, 1-for-9 against Minnesota on Oct. 23, and 4-for-9 against New York on Oct. 25. That’s eight makes from 28 attempts across three regular-season games, with two finishes above the selected line, including his latest outing.
Shooting volume is the decisive risk. Bane has attempted at least nine threes in every game. Another night with that many opportunities would give him plenty of chances to reach three makes, even without an especially hot shooting performance.
We’re taking Bane Under 2.5 full-game threes made with a modest stake.
