Good luck to Washington against Gerrit Cole
If we've learned anything this postseason, it's that Gerrit Cole is simply unhittable for the most part when he's on the mound for the Astros.
In the ALCS against the Yankees, New York's power hitters really couldn't do much against him, as even getting a hit seemed like a luxury.
Against the Nationals, Cole will look to keep his masterful ways going in Game 1.
Cole has a 0.40 ERA in the playoffs. While Washington has surprised us plenty, look for the Houston ace to power his team to a Game 1 victory.
Game 1 Features Gerrit Cole vs Max Scherzer
While the Nats' bats will be in trouble against Gerrit Cole, things won't be a cake walk for the Astros come Tuesday's Game 1.
That's because Washington star Max Scherzer is taking the bump to kickstart the World Series.
Similar to Cole, 'Mad Max' has been dominant in the postseason. In his last two starts, he's tossed a combined 14 innings and given up one earned run.
With these two hurlers getting the nod for their respective teams, take the under for Game 1, no question.

Will the Astros win their second World Series in the last three years?
Make no mistake about it, the Astros are the top dogs going into the start of the World Series. With their rotation and unreal offense, this team has been pegged to win the Fall Classic for months now.
Their first three starters are Gerrit Cole, Justin Verlander and Zack Greinke. Seems almost unfair. Oh, and Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, Alex Bregmann and others will be stepping up to the plate.

Nationals looking to do the unthinkable and take down Houston
While everyone and their mother thinks the Astros will win the World Series, the Nationals are fighting to keep proving their doubters wrong.
Experts and the World Series odds favored the Dodgers to make easy work of Washington in the NLDS, but the Nats shocked the world to take down the heavy NL favorites.
Now, guys like Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, NLCS MVP Howie Kendrick and others will look to prove everyone wrong once again against the Astros.
