NHL Free Picks & Predictions: Edmonton Oilers @ San Jose Sharks
We head to the Golden State for a Western Conference battle, between the San Jose Sharks and the Edmonton Oilers for our NHL free pick game of the day.
The Oilers sit at the top of the Pacific Division, while the Sharks are one place off the bottom. The Sharks are in excellent form and are on for their 7th win consecutive win.
Will the Sharks make it 7 wins from seven?
- 01Edmonton Oilers (2.20) vs San Jose Sharks (1.71)
- 02Paylay Pick: Edmonton to win & under 6.5 total (4.87)
- 03Parlay Play: Oilers win first period & both teams score (5.50)
Edmonton Oilers (2.20) vs San Jose Sharks (1.71)
San Jose made a poor start to the season, but have been in excellent form of late and are marching their way up the NHL power rankings - they’re up to 23rd.
The Sharks have been so good in fact, that they are among the best penalty-killing teams in the NHL. They’re form has put them at 10-10-1 for the season outright.
The Sharks faced off against the Red Wings in their last, a game which they won 4-3 in the shootout. A Manic second period involving four goals, tied the game and paved the way for Kevin LaBanc to take the win.
The Oilers will be annoyed to have lost out to the Dallas Stars in their last. They lost the game 5-4 in OT, but it was a game they should have won and they’ll be disappointed to let it slip.
Edmonton are 13-6-3 for the season overall. We think they’ll be up for this and will bounce back from Saturday’s performance.
Take Edmonton Oilers to win.

Paylay Pick: Edmonton to win & under 6.5 total (4.87)
The Oilers haven’t been able to get a solid winning-run going of late, losses to the Stars and the Sharks have put them on the back foot. They now face off against the Sharks for the second time in a week and will seek their revenge.
The Sharks hammered Edmonton 6-3 last week, which will be a vital boost of confidence going into a game against the likes of Draisaitl and McDavid. The two Oilers forwards sit at 1 and 2 in the NHL league scoring tables.
San Jose defenseman Radim Simek has started to get the attention he deserves. Though he doesn’t offer much offensively, he offers great value to the team when he’s on the ice.
With Simek involved San Jose is 35-9-3, opposed to 21-28-7 when he isn’t. They’ll need him tonight if they are to take anything from this game.
We feel this game has an Edmonton win written all over it, so with these NHL betting odds this is certainly worth a punt.
Take Edmonton to win & under 6.5 total.
Parlay Play: Oilers win first period & both teams score (5.50)
Although they lost the game, it was business as usual for the Oilers offense. McDavid grabbed three assists, while Jujhar Khaira got two goals putting in his best performance of the season.
McDavid is often the man in the limelight, but it is the big German Draisaitl who is topping almost every chart in the NHL scoring tables.
He sits at 43 points, 16 goals and 27 assists, already, for the season. He took a goal and an assist away from the game against the Stars.
It seems it’ll be him and Connor battling it out for the rest of the season to get top spot in the table. Certainly not a bad spot to be in, if you’re Dave Tippett or an Oilers fan.
Expect the Oilers to win the first period & both teams to score.
