Week 1 NFL action plays out on September 5th, 8th and 9th 2019.
We cautiously rolled through the preseason and ended up with an 10-6 record that was good for a sweet (+493) return over four weeks of NFL X-Game free picks. With contests now counting – let’s take a look at four Week 1 matches we like.
A journey through 100 years of NFL history, with a little help from… Peyton Manning. 🙌

Green Bay @ Chicago: 05/09/19 at 8:00 PM ET
A beauty opens the 100th Anniversary NFL season as the Packers and Bears clash at Soldier Field. Following an injury plagued season, QB Aaron Rodgers will look to lift Green Bay up from their 6-9-1 campaign and snap a two year run of missing the playoffs.
Earning their first playoff berth since 2010, the Bears are looking for back-to-back NFC North Championships. QB Michael Trubisky enters his sophomore season with high expectations and the Chicago defense may be even better this year.
Fantasy Football fans will be holding their breath hoping Rodgers escapes the Windy City injury free. We like Chicago as a Super Bowl contender and see them starting their season rolling on a high note – Back Da’ Bears.

Tennessee @ Cleveland: 08/09/19 at 1:00 PM ET
As part of the Week 1 early Sunday action, the Titans visit FirstEnergy Stadium to battle the Browns. Tennessee went 9-7 and missed the postseason last year. Cleveland posted a 7-8-1 mark and has not made the NFL playoffs since 2002.
Tennessee is giving QB Marcus Mariota one last chance as they brought in QB Ryan Tannehill from Miami. Cleveland added WR Odell Beckham Jr. during the offseason and that should help QB Baker Mayfield have a great sophomore season.
These are teams of contrast, as the Titans want to pound the ball on the ground while the Browns will be potent in the air and on the ground. We have a feeling Cleveland will be in a few of our Free Pick features this season – Bet on the Browns!
By the Numbers: Defense racks up 19 sacks in 2019 preseason

NFL Week 1 Three Team Parlay Prediction
Fans of accumulator betting, we offer up our first parlay free pick of the season. Focusing on 4:05 PM ET afternoon games, plus the Sunday Night Football match, we are jumping on three favorites while setting up a possible late game double up.
Our first leg is the Chargers (1.35) over the Colts as Indy enters the post QB Andrew Luck era. The Bolts have weak homefield advantage but we like their weapons on offense. Seattle (1.25) welcomes Cincinnati to CenturyLink Field and we see the Seahawks bashing the Bengals.
NFL Week 1 Prime Time SNF features fierce AFC rivals as Pittsburgh and New England meet at Gillette Stadium at 8:20 PM ET. With Antonio Brown (OAK) and Le’Veon Bell (NYJ) both departed – the Patriots (1.40) get a Steelers squad still finding their way.
- Chargers (1.35) Money Line
- Seahawks (1.25) Money Line
- Patritos (1.40) Money Line

Houston @ New Orleans: 09/09/19 at 7:10 PM ET
Week 1 Monday Night Football betting delivers a pair of contests as the Texans visits the Saints and then Oakland hosts Denver at 10:20 PM ET. New Orleans and Houston are both expected to have winning seasons but one of them will open with a 0-1 mark.
Houston has been very busy securing a bevvy of new players including RB Carlos Hyde, RB Duke Johnson and WR Kenny Stills. For their part, except for departed RB Mark Ingram, The Saints return with their explosive 2018 offense largely in place.
Disgruntled DE Jadeveon Clowney finally got his wish to leave the Lone Star State as he was traded to Seattle in a deal that is best described as messy. Houston won’t be on the same page fully and we like New Orleans at home at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
