Ravens should take down the Dolphins with no problems
Leading into this one, we really think the Ravens should take down the Dolphins with no problems. It really has been a nightmare year for Miami, as they're 2-7 on the year. Miami entered the season with plenty of high hopes and big expectations to be competitive, but the opposite has been the case. The same cannot be said for the Ravens.
Baltimore is at the top of the AFC North standings with its 6-2 record. What has made Baltimore so special this year has been its ability to win close games. This was showcased in Week 9, as the team took down the Minnesota Vikings in an overtime thriller. In the win, Lamar Jackson was strong once again, but Justin Tucker stole the show with his game-winning field goal.
|Ravens to win||1.29||1.29||1.29||1.29|
|Dolphins to win||3.80||3.80||3.80||3.80|
|Over to hit||1.91||1.91||1.91||1.91|
|Under to hit||1.91||1.91||1.91||1.91|
As for Miami, there's been nothing but drama for the team throughout the year. For them to be 2-7 after nine games really is embarrassing. Before the trade deadline, there was plenty of discussion as to whether or not the team would go get Deshaun Watson. They didn't, but you have to believe this took a toll on Tua Tagovailoa's confidence. You've almost got to feel bad for the kid.
Per the Canadian sportsbooks, the Ravens are indeed monster favourites with their 1.29 NFL odds, while the Dolphins have been placed at 3.80. We think this could prove to be a long night for Miami, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Jackson creates magic whenever the ball is in his hands and we expect the same to be the case here. Our pick is no question with Baltimore.
The over should hit between the Ravens and Dolphins
Looking at things as a whole, the over should hit between the Ravens and Dolphins. While Baltimore may be better on paper, the two teams feature plenty of star power offensively who will be ready to put on a show and light up the scoreboard. The good news for Miami is it's looking like Tagovailoa will be able to play in this one after he missed last week's game due to injury.
For Miami, Tagovailoa may not quite be a superstar in this league yet, but the former first-round pick has looked strong at times this season. The good news for him is that the team has great players catching the ball from him. This of course includes Mike Gesicki, Jaylen Waddle, DeVante Parkers and others. Waddle is in the middle of a breakout year, which has been great to see.
With Baltimore, Jackson really is a great talent. He finds ways to hurt teams both with his arm and wheels. Whenever Jackson is free in the middle of the field and he breaks free for a run, it's must-see television. Miami will have its hands full trying to contain him, Marquise Brown, Mark Andrews, Devonta Freeman, Le'Veon Bell and others for Baltimore.
We're expecting this one to be a high-scoring affair. The over/under has been set at 46.5 points. Both the over and under have 1.91 odds. While 46.5 points may seem high, we think that the over will definitely hit. When you have Jackson and Tagovailoa leading the offences out onto the field, you can expect plenty of fireworks. Go with the over and check out our NFL betting sites if you want to place a wager.
Look for the Baltimore Ravens to score at least 30 points
In another bet to consider, look for the Baltimore Ravens to score at least 30 points in this one going up against Miami's defence. While the Ravens might be the visiting team, that's not going to stop Jackson from what he does best: make opposing defences look silly. For the Ravens, the offence continues to impress each week it's on the field.
Matter of fact, they've scored at least 30 points in three of their last four games. That tells you how dominant the offence has been. In the win over the Vikings this past Sunday, Freeman and Bell really looked strong with the run game. This is going to have to continue against the Dolphins on Thursday night.
The over/under for Baltimore has been set at 27 points against the Dolphins. Really? We think Baltimore should have no issues at all topping that number in what should prove to be a dominant win. Go with the over for the Ravens and 27 points here, folks.
