The Canucks to win at the Wells Fargo Center?
- 1Vancouver Canucks (3.05) vs Philadelphia Flyers (2.05)
- 2Parlay Pick: Philadelphia Flyers to win & under 5.5 total (4.30)
- 3One for the Visitors: Canucks to win & both teams score in 1st period (4.50)
Vancouver Canucks (3.05) vs Philadelphia Flyers (2.05)
In the win over the Capitals, the Canucks earnt their seventh road win of the season. Though they managed to beat arguably the best team in the league, they still need to work on their offense.
Vancouver go 12-8-4 for the season outright. After 24 games this season, only two players on the Canucks roster have more than 9 goals in Elias Pettersson (10) and Brock Boeser (10).
The Flyers are 5th in the Metropolitan Division and sit on 11-7-5 outright.
They lost their last game 3-2 to the Calgary Flames. The Flyers haven’t really managed a decent run of form throughout the campaign, every time they start to build something they concede a loss.
They need to work on offense, as they are decent defensively. We see them being motivated to bounce back in this one and they’ll have the home crowd behind them.
Take the Flyers to win.
Parlay Pick: Philadelphia Flyers to win & under 5.5 total (4.30)
We looked around the various bookmakers and we thought this wager was pretty good. Given that both teams are strong defensively and haven’t been gung-ho in attack, we chose this for our NHL free pick for the day.
Philadelphia have been slightly below average in scoring, as sit 17th for goals for averaging 2.91 gals per contest. At the other end, they’re tied at 9th in the league in goals against by allowing 2.87 goals per contest.
Philadelphia are creating chances, but they haven’t been clinical in front of goal. They’ll need to look to improve on this against a confident Canucks team.
We see two fairly evenly matched defensive teams. It’s likely the game will be decided in offense, but who will do the most on the night?
Expect a Flyers win & the game to go under 5.5 total.
One for the Visitors: Canucks to win & both teams score in 1st period (4.50)
The Canucks have put together a concrete defensive unit this season, led by Jacob Markstrom in their last to overcome the Capitals.
Vancouvers’ offense stands at 14th in the league in goals for at an average of 3.13 goals per game. The Canucks are eighth in the league in goals against, conceding 2.83 goals per game.
Chasing a third straight victory, the Canucks have momentum on the road.
The Flyers haven’t been consistent this season and that’s something Travis Greens’ men will be aware of, if they get on top of them early they could take the points.
The NHL betting odds were quite favourable for the Flyers, but the Canucks deserve a shout in this one. We feel both teams will be motivated for different reasons, but they’ll both look to control things from the tip off.
Take the Canucks to beat the Flyers & both teams to score in the 1st period.
