The Los Angeles Kings are straight back into action tonight against the Vancouver Canucks. Will Drew Doughty be the hero once again tonight?

Vancouver Canucks (1.61) vs Los Angeles Kings (2.25)
Vancouver Canucks are looking to record their first win of the season. After only narrowly missing out in game one and a poor showing against their Canadian rivals, the Calgary Flames, in the second.
As I predicted in yesterday’s picks, the Kings are coming off the back of a glorious OT win last night, thanks to a late winner from Drew Doughty. They will want to maintain their momentum going into game 3.
The Canucks will be hungry for their first win of the season, with the crowd behind them look to see the homeside take the win.
Goals in the third, highest scoring period (2.40)
When the two teams last met in preseason it was a high scoring contest, with the Vancouver Canucks taking the win 7-5 and scoring 6 goals between them in the third.
In the last 5 games there has been a lot of activity in the third period for both sides. The Kings and Canucks have conceded or scored 13 and 8 points, respectively, in the last period. Given that both sides are vying for a win tonight, it could come down to the wire.
If we see anything close to a repeat of what we saw in preseason, this is an obvious wager.
Take highest scoring period to be the third.
Canucks to come out firing, take the first period (2.50)
The home side come into this one with a point to prove. They will also be aware of the fact that the Kings have had no rest since their win over the Flames. Head coach Travis Green will look to take advantage of this and take the game to them early.
The stats don’t favour the Kings either, who have lost 21 in their last 29 when they’ve come out with 0 days rest. Although scoring hasn’t been a problem for them of late, they dug deep last night to grab the win and it may take them a while to get into the game.
Take Canucks to score in the first period.
Expect a steady game, under 5.5 inc. OT (1.80)
It may be a quieter evening at the Rogers Arena this evening. Since the beginning of the season, the Canucks have only managed to net 2 goals.
They’ll look to change that this evening. Jack Campbell put an impressive performance in against the Calgary Flames, stopping 26 of 29 shots. Though he’ll step aside to let the experienced Johnathon Quick back in, who’s proven to be solid between the pipes.
The Kings, with 9 goals in 2, may have something else to say about it. But with no rest, it will likely be a push to expect a high scoring game from the away side.
Expect to see under 5.5 tonight.
