NHL Free Picks & Predictions: New Jersey Devils @ Philadelphia Flyers
We head to the city of Brotherly Love for a game between two old rivals, not just geographically but from the old Patrick Division, now locking horns in the Metropolitan Division.
The last time these teams met, in March, the Flyers claimed a 6-3 victory on the road. Will the Devils snatch their first win of the season, or will it the Flyers get the better of them again?

Philadelphia Flyers (1.72) vs New Jersey Devils (2.10)
The New Jersey Devils are well rested coming into this one, which is a good thing after taking a hiding against the Buffalo Sabres. The Devils won 5 in 7 during preseason, but that run of form hasn’t carried over into the season having lost both opening games.
Constrastingly the Flyers endured a torrid preseason, recording just 1 win in 6. But a hard fought win, and a star performance from Travis Konecny, against Chicago has started them off on the right foot winning their opening game.
Expect to see a third loss for the Devils.
Parlay Pick: Flyers to win & Over 6.0 (3.19)
A nice little wager for those that want to stretch beyond a straight up win bet.
We predict the red light to be a lot flashing tonight. Taking a quick glance at the stats we can see the Flyers are averaging 4 goals per game to the Devils 3. If we look to goals conceded per game we can observe New Jersey with an average of 5.5 to the Flyers 3.
On top of that, the Devils saw 9 goals in total in their last game to the Flyers 7. Also, this isn’t just any game. A game between two old school rivals. The fans will expect the players to go up a gear tonight, and so do we.
Expect Flyers to win and by over 6.0.
Philadelphia to let fly early on, first team to score (1.80)
The Flyers put are still shaking off jet lag after their 4-3 victory against Chicago in the NHL Global Games in Prague. The Flyers young elite prospect Travis Konecny stamped his mark on the game with a comprehensive performance, scoring 2 and assisting 1.
Expect the youngster to come out with more of the same tonight back on American soil at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Devils have conceded 12 goals in 2 games. Philadelphia head coach Alain Vigneault will be acutely aware of this and will look to add to the Devils misery early on.
Take Philadelphia to score first.
Sean Couturier to grab his first goal of the season, to score at anytime (3.00)
Given that New Jersey are leaking far too many goals and the Flyers have the 3rd highest shots per game in the NHL so far this season, it’s likely we’ll see a few of the Philadelphia players on the scoreboard.
Sean Couturier has been productive in front of goal over the past couple of seasons, scoring 31 in the 17/18 season and 33 last season. Although he didn’t score in Europe against Chicago, with Travis Konecny next to him I’d wager tonight he’ll net his first.
Sean Couturier to score at anytime.
