NHL Free Picks & Predictions: Carolina Hurricanes @ Boston Bruins
The Bruins hold the longest win streak in the league right now and will be looking to make this their eighth consecutive win at TD Garden tonight.
Boston will host the Carolina Hurricanes, who beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in their previous game and will be looking to carry that momentum against the league leaders.
Can the Hurricanes stop Pastrnak?
- 01Carolina Hurricanes (2.30) vs Boston Bruins (1.65)
- 02Parlay Pick: Bruins to win & under 6.5 total (3.25)
- 03The Nose-Faced Killah to get one, Brad Marchand anytime scorer (2.50)
Carolina Hurricanes (2.30) vs Boston Bruins (1.65)
The Bruins (19-3-5) have been lethal in attack this season. Boston forward David Pastrnak leads the league in goals scored, sitting on 25 goals and 17 assists for the season outright.
But it’s not just in attack where the Bruins are performing, they boast an excellent defense. They are second in the league in goals against per game, averaging 2.19 goals against per game at the moment.
Notably over the past four games, the Bruins are giving up just 1.25 goals per game. This will make for a very tricky evening for the visitors.
Carolina haven’t been half bad this season and sit on 16-10-1 for the campaign. Though they have only won one in their last three, they’ve managed to hold their opponents to 2.81 goals per game.
It will be tough keeping the Boston forwards out, but a solid defensive unit will be integral to success at TD Garden.
Take the Bruins to win this one.
Parlay Pick: Bruins to win & under 6.5 total (3.25)
In offense there are few complaints for Rod Brind’Amour’s men, they are averaging 3.22 goals per game. Although they haven’t been hitting those numbers in the last few games, we know they can turn it on.
Sebastian Aho is the Hurricane’s leading scorer with 13 goals and 9 assists. They also have the likes of Teuvo Teravainen and Andrei Svechnikov, who can produce the goods on the night.
For Boston, they are fairly confident in attack. They are averaging 3.67 goals per game and coupled with their staggering defensive record, one wonders how Carolina are going to break take anything from this one.
The NHL betting odds are of course in favour of a Bruins win, but the over/under wagers on this game were excellent.
Both teams are strong in defense and offense, but we see the defense coming up trumps and the game staying relatively low-scoring.
Take the Bruins to win & under 6.5 total.
The Nose-Faced Killah to get one, Brad Marchand anytime scorer (2.50)
Brad Marchand is a man at the center of a lot of drama for the Bruins, but he’s also one of the most productive and top-performing players in the NHL this season. So, we thought we’d give him an NHL free pick this week.
He leads the team in assists, with 25 for the 2019/20 season. He's fourth in the league for goals scored having scored 18 so far, with three goals and three assists in their last five games.
Marchand is the best all-round winger in the NHL right now and we expect to show that in tonight’s matchup. If he starts linking with the other forwards, he will be unstoppable this evening.
Boston are still atop of the NHL power rankings and will continue to climb, if they manage to keep this form up.
Take Brad Marchand to score anytime.
