NBA Free Picks And Predictions: March 6 - March 8

The Nuggets managed to get it over the line against the Hornets, winning the game 112-114. While the Rockets lost out in the big battle in the Western Conference, as the Clippers took the game 120-105 with Kawhi Leonard putting up a team-high of 25 points.

The first March weekend in 2020 brings us numerous excellent games, though the highlight of the weekend is the big battle in the NBA. We have the Bucks taking on the Lakers at the STAPLES Center to kick things off, as well as the Celtics, Mavs and OK Thunder in the action.

Dion Waiters looks to be joining the Lakers from the Heat, while the return of the three-point king, Steph Curry makes his first appearance back on the court since 2019.

Who will take the points this weekend?

Milwaukee Bucks (1.93) @ Los Angeles Lakers (1.90)

The Bucks continue to lead the NBA power rankings, atop in the Eastern Conference and going 8-2 in their last ten games. The Bucks conceded an unexpected loss to the Heat midweek, but bounced back to beat the Pacers, with Giannis leading the line with 29 points.

Giannis continues to stake his claim for the 2020 NBA MVP title, giving everything on the court game after game. He’s averaging 29.6 points per game, while Khris Middleton is also shining this season putting up an average of 20.9ppg.

The Lakers aren’t doing too badly either. Top of the Western Conference and going 47-13 for the season and will enter this one looking to make it three wins from three.

LeBron is the only real contender to Giannis’s claim to the MVP title this season and has really turned things up in the second half of the season. New shooting guard Dion Waiters will add to the Laker’s offensive capabilities.

They have the home advantage and if AD and LeBron link up as they have been, they’ll make it tough for Milwaukee to score.

Take the Lakers to win.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Boston Celtics

Another East vs West game for our Saturday night NBA free pick, as the Oklahoma City Travel to TD Garden looking to improve their bid for a Playoff place this season.

The Thunder is 38-24 for the season, just ahead of Dallas, and are playing positively, winning 6 of their last ten games. They’re putting up an average of 110.6ppg while allowing 108.5ppg. Oklahoma has a number of great offensive players in Shai, Gallinari, Schroder and Paul.

The Celtics have been very impressive defensively this season as well, allowing just 106.9ppg which is the third-highest in the league. In offence, they’ve not slacked either putting up 113.4ppg.

The NBA betting odds are yet to be released, but will likely favour a win for the Celtics. Given they’re playing at home and fact they’re 42-19 in the East, winning 6 of their last ten games.

Expect the Celtics to win.

Indiana Pacers @ Dallas Mavericks

The Indiana Pacers sit sixth in the Eastern Conference and will likely be one of the NBA teams who’ll make it to the postseason. The Lithuanian-American Domantias Sabonis has been excellent this season, averaging 18.2ppg this campaign.

The Pacers have been excellent defensively, the likes of Justin Holiday, Victor Oladipo, T.J. Warren, and Jeremy Lamb have all protected the rim excellently. They’re allowing just 107.4ppg as a team, which is good enough for seventh in the league tables.

The Mavericks don’t seem to be able to get a string of wins together, but they go 38-25 for the season are certain candidates for the NBA finals this year. They’ve been in the third spot for average points per game in the NBA all season long, currently putting up 116.6.

We love the Mavericks this season. They’re an offensive force and are excellent to watch, with Luka Doncic leading the charge. It seems every game he plays the team come to life, putting up 28.5ppg and assisting an average of 8.8 per game.

With players like KP, Seth Curry and Tim Hardaway Jr stepping up to the plate all season long, we back the Mavs to win this one at the American Airlines Center.

Pick the Mavericks to win.
