NBA Weekend Free Picks: November 15-17
As we approach the weekend, we look to the league tables where the Celtics are on top in the East and the Lakers lead in the West. Both teams are in action again this weekend.
Yestedays’ epic between the Knicks and Mavs was a special game for the young Slovenian magician Luca Dončić. He recorded a triple-double (30 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists) and became the youngest to get a triple-double at the MSG, previously held by Magic Johnosn.
We have more from James Harden, LeBron and Luca coming up now.
- 01Indiana Pacers (1.31) @ Houston Rockets (3.62)
- 02Sacramento Kings (4.14) @ Los Angeles Lakers (1.26)
- 03Toronto Raptors (1.95) @ Dallas Mavericks (2.55)
- 04Atlanta Hawks (4.51) @ Los Angeles Clippers (1.49)
Indiana Pacers (1.31) @ Houston Rockets (3.62)
We head to the Toyota Center in Houston for an Inter conference matchup, where the Rockets will host the Pacers.
Both teams have been in decent form of late, but this will be a slog for both sides to get over the line.
Houston, who are 8-3 this campaign, have a roster riddled with injuries. The loss of Capela and Nene is having an effect on the Rockets. Harden is putting in work offensively, but they need a player with a presence at both ends.
The Indiana Pacers aren’t without their own problems. They’re still without Turner and Lamb, but it hasn’t stopped them making an impressive start to the 2019/20 campaign, sitting at 7-4.
However, we don’t know if they’ll have enough here.
Take the Rockets to win it.
Sacramento Kings (4.14) @ Los Angeles Lakers (1.26)
The Lakers, who are 1st in the NHL power rankings, will host the Sacramento Kings at the STAPLES Center to kick off the weekend.
The Kings made a slow start to the season, but have since turned things around winning four of their last five games.
However, the Lakers boast one of the best defensive units in the league, holding opponents to 100.9 points per game.
The Kings average just 105.6 points per game, which will be news to the ears of the Lakers coach Frank Vogel. The Lakers stand at 9-2 for the season.
In defense for the Kings, they are averaging 110.3 points per game, which will make stopping this Lakers side very difficult. The Kings are 4-6 for the season and are unlikely to put another point in the win column in this one.
Take the Lakers to win.
Toronto Raptors (1.95) @ Dallas Mavericks (2.55)
The Raptors will be buoyant at the moment, even though they lost out to the Clippers on Tuesday, they’ve won 4 of their last five games, putting them at 8-3 for the season.
They beat the Trail Blazers in their last 114-106, led by Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam. Both players have been doing work this season, in the space left by Kawi Leonard.
For the Mavericks, it’s been all about the Luca magic. This young man has lit the league up since he first joined as the third draft at the start of last season. He is controlling games and putting up scores in every game.
Doncic is doing so well in fact, that he sits in 4th for average points per game on 28.7 just behind the Greek Freak.
A very tough game to call and we want to go against the bookies and give our NBA free pick to the homeside.
Take the Mavs to win in this one.
Atlanta Hawks (4.51) @ Los Angeles Clippers (1.49)
We are back at the STAPLES Center for an Eastern vs Western Conference clash between the Atlanta Hawks and the homeside the Clippers.
Both teams are currently sitting at 7th in their respective leagues, with the Hawks on 4-7 outright and the Clippers sit at 7-5.
The Clippers will come into this game with back-to-back losses on their record, conceding to the Rockets and the Pelicans.
Kawhi Leonard was rested in the game against the Pelicans, but will return to face the Hawks.
The Atlanta Hawks also lost in their last. They missed out to a strong Suns side 128-112 in their last fixture, but ground out a win over the Nuggets in the previous matchup.
The NBA betting odds heavily favour a Clippers win and we feel the same way.
Expect a win for the homeside at the STAPLES Center.
