NBA Free Picks and Predictions: February 28 - March 1

The Lakers win over the Golden State Warriors puts them 45-12 for the season and clear favourites to win in the Western Conference.

We have a number of great NBA free picks for the coming weekend. Starting things off with the Miami Heat on the trip to Dallas, as well as the Sunday game between the Toronto Raptors and the Denver Nuggets.

Let’s dive right into the action.

Miami Heat (1.77) @ Dallas Mavericks (2.11)

The Dallas Mavericks are 6-4 in their last ten games and look in a strong position to secure a place in the Playoffs this season. The Dallas Mavericks are twelfth in the NBA power rankings and will host Miami looking to make it three wins in three.

The Mavericks were in excellent form against the Spurs in their last game, with Curry, KP, Doncic and Hardaway Jr providing a clinical attacking display.

Dallas boast one of the most powerful offensive units in the NBA. They’re achieving an average of 116.6 points per game, which is the third-highest in the league, led by Doncic with an average of 28.7 per game.

The Heat is having a tough time of late, as they will look to snap a two-game losing skid in at the American Airlines Center. Miami will have to shut out the Mavs offence if they want to take anything away from this one.

Take the Mavs to win.

Houston Rockets @ Boston Celtics

The Houston Rockets are 38-20 for the season and sit third in the Western Conference. They go 8-2 in their last ten and are on a 6-game win streak.

If they continue to play in this kind of form, with Westbrook and Harden linking up game in game out, they’ll go into the NBA finals looking strong. Wins over the Grizzles, Knicks and Jazz has given them the confidence they need for the backend of the regular season.

Boston, much like the Rockets, are 8-2 and will look to make it three from three at TD Garden on Saturday night. The NBA betting odds will favour the home side to win, but it will certainly be a close matchup.

The Celtics have a number of excellent offensive players to match the two MVPs’ from Houston, the likes of Jayson Tatum (23.3ppg), Kemba Walker (21.8ppg) and Jaylen Brown (20.4ppg) are showing in this late stage of the season, and since we kicked things off last year.

Pick the Celtics.

Toronto Raptors @ Denver Nuggets

The Toronto Raptors boast the joint-best defensive unit in the league, alongside the Magic, allowing an average of just 106.1 points per game. While they’re putting up 113.0 points per game.

The Raptors are second in the Eastern Conference on 42-16 for the 2019/20 campaign. The Raptors have eight wins in their last ten games, though they lost to the Bucks 108-97 in the big battle in the East.

The Nuggets play Raptors on Sunday and will be confident going into this one, they’ll be favoured in the eyes of the bookmakers.

Denver goes 7-3 in their last ten and will look to make it three wins in three. Denver is scoring an average of 110.7 points per game and allowing just 106.8 points per game. Nikola Jokic is playing excellently at the moment - he’ll be key on Sunday.

Take the Nuggets to win.
