It’s time for another week in the National Hockey League season, and you know what that means – another look at the schedule ahead! Rest Notes: There are no quirks here, just two evenly matched games and one big swing at the top, with Winnipeg having three days off and the Sharks having… two weeks?! Yes, they’re the very last team to return from the All-Star & bye week schedule. I’d actually give Winnipeg the advantage here – three days is plenty of rest, and two full weeks is well past rust territory. That’s before looking at the roster quality between the two as well…
Rest Notes: We have three back-to-backs, and on top of that, we have Seattle and New Jersey playing their third game in four nights. As well, Montreal, St. Louis, and Vancouver are playing their fourth game in six nights. Calgary has the biggest advantage, with two rest days to San Jose’s none, especially egregious with the Sharks flying in from Winnipeg.
Rest Notes: A single game difference here on a day that is as close as you can get to a day off without being one. Odd schedule time, two smaller market teams, this could’ve been a Thursday game and given us all a night off, but alas.
Rest Notes: On top of Carolina’s back-to-back, San Jose and Florida are playing their third game in four nights, and New Jersey is playing their fourth in six games. We have a couple of multi-day rest mismatches here (Washington over Montreal, Columbus over San Jose, and the biggest, Vegas over Carolina).
Rest Notes: A couple of slight mismatches here, with the most impactful likely being Pittsburgh’s gap over the Kings.
