MLS Cup Conference Finals: Free Picks and Predictions
After an action-packed week of MLS semifinal action, we’re set for the Conference Finals.
Atlanta United put an end to the Philadelphia Union’s chances of making it to the finals and setup a third consecutive home game in the Eastern Conference Final, when they host Toronto FC.
Meanwhile out West, the competition favourites and Supporters’ Shield winners, LAFC won the battle for LA and waved goodbye to Zlatan.
They’re booked into the Western Conference Final against the Seattle Sounders at the Banc of California Stadium.
Can the underdogs cause an upset?

LAFC (1.44) vs Seattle Sounders (6.50) Wednesday 30th October, 10pm (EST)
The top two seeds from the Western Conference will battle it out for a place in the MLS Cup Final 2019.
The MLS betting odds heavily favour LAFC to progress. And rightfully so, the Sounders have never defeated them, with an overall record of 0W-3L-1D.
Nonetheless, the Sounders will be buoyant after a convincing 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake in the Semis. They played well, taking 20 shots with 10 on target. Although the opposition this time round are a different animal, it's still very positive.
LAFC will be very confident. They won a hard-fought game against bitter rivals, the Galaxy, in fairly convincing fashion to earn a spot in the Conference finals.
LAFC’s offensive output and linkup play between the forwards this season has been unmatched.Starman and MLS leading goalscorer Carlos Vela will look to punish the Sounders defense.
It will be a big ask for the Seattle Sounders to win here.
Take LAFC to win and progress.
A tough fixture for Seattle, game to go over +4 (2.66)
Everyone knows this will be a tough game. It’s been hard to take our eyes off of LAFC all year and with a goal difference of +48, it’s pretty obvious why.
Although the Sounders came second in the league, they have a staggering -45 GD on their LA counterparts.
They’ve managed to accumulate a decent number of points, enough to find themselves second in the league. But they’ve shipped goals and this isn’t something that bodes well against the firepower LAFC have on display.
The vast majority of LAFC’s goals come from their Rossi and Vela and stopping them will be absolutely key to any chance of success for Seattle.
We see there being a lot of goals on the night. Take the game to go over 4 goals.
Atlanta United (1.72) vs Toronto FC (4.20) - Thursday 31st October 8pm (EST)
Atlanta march on towards their first defense of the MLS CUP, and the league’s first title defense since LA Galaxy managed the feat back in 2012.
They managed to cause an upset by knocking out the number one seed in the East, New York City FC. This sets us up for an intriguing tie between the last two MLS Cup champions - and what a tie it ought to be.
The last time Toronto went to Atlanta back in May they were comfortably beaten 2-0. But since that game they’ve bounced back, with an overall of 2W-1L-3D.
The coaches know how much is on the line and will be preparing the players as such. We don’t think any amount of preparation will be enough for Toronto and expect them to fall short.
Expect Atlanta United to win against Toronto FC.

Parlay Pick: Atlanta to win it & game under 3.5 (3.25)
We feel the teams will be compact and setup to punish mistakes, rather than play an open game. With so much on the line, they’ll want to avoid end-to-end football.
Our favourite Soccer Free Pick of the day is based on this one being a low-scoring affair.
Toronto ended the season with a gold differential of +5, whereas Atlanta tipped them with a differential of +15. This isn’t anything major, but it’s worth noting both teams haven’t been scoring freely and have conceded a fair amount of goals.
Aside from a 5-1 drubbing against D.C. United, Toronto haven’t managed to put more than 2 goals away in a number of games. Either way, the stats favour Atlanta and this will likely show on the night.
Both teams scored 2 goals to win their last matches and we feel something similar is likely to occur in Atlanta’s favour in the Conference Finals.
Expect Atlanta to book a place in the MLS Cup Final and the game to go under 3.5.
