[ARG] River Plate (3.35) vs [BRA] Flamengo (2.15)
Reigning Copa Libertadores champions River Plate will aim to retain their title when they battle it out with the Brazilian team Flamengo to take the 60th edition of CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores.
River beat the 2018 finalists, Boca Juniors in the penultimate stage of South America’s most prestigious competition last month.
Flamengo manager, and Benfica legend, Jorge Jesus and his Rio de Janeiro-based side have been vigorous and consistent this season. They’ve led the Brasileirão Série A and managed to get to the final of this competition for the first time in 38 years.
The Brazilian side haven’t been in the final since the days of Zico, Leandro and Junior.
River Plate sit 3rd in the domestic league and have been good form of late. They have Exequiel Palacios in midfield, who has been excellent over the last couple of seasons.
We don’t think River will have enough on Saturday night and the cup will return to Flamengo for the first time in almost 4 decades.
Expect a Flamengo win.

Parlay Pick: Flamengo to win & over 2.5 total (4.50)
Flamengo have been excellent throughout the 2019 campaign. They seen to be reinvigorated under the current management and are working more cohesively as a team.
Another factor for Rio side is the Inter Milan Castaway Gabriel Barbosa, who has had a very fruitful spell at the Maracana Stadium. Earning a recall to the national side.
His form this season has been very impressive, bagging 29 goals in 37 appearances, including 7 goals in this competition. He’s held in high regard in the City, and within the Latin continent, as he’s playing some of the best football in the league.
River Plate managed to edge the final last year, beating bitter rivals Boca Juniors with an aggregate score of 5-3.
Marcelo Gallardo has enjoyed a strong season, but winning this would really be the icing on the cake. He will look to Matias Suarez and Rafael Santos Borre for the goals on Saturday. He also has the option of playing Juan Quintero.
Take Flamengo to win & over 2.5 total.
Prop Pick: Goal scored in first 30 mins (2.25)
The soccer betting odds favour a Flamengo victory in the final and we tend to agree. The way they’ve played throughout the season cements this for us.
We can see this being a fiery affair; any contest between Argentina vs Brazil is going to be worth a watch, it is the final afterall!
If River’s midfielder Palacios can get things moving early on, the Argentinian side will likely find the net. Equally, Flamengo have been in goalscoring form all season long, so we expect goals to come from their end.
It’s also worth considering the fact, this is the retaining Copa Libertadores holders against a team that haven’t won this competition in 38 years. So this one is going to be red-hot from the get-go.
We wanted to give you a nice little wager for our soccer free pick of the day and this one seems a sure-fire winner, with great odds to back it.
Expect a goal in the first 30 minutes of the final.
