NHL Free Picks: Calgary Flames @ Buffalo Sabres
Wednesday night pucks takes us to the KeyBank Center, where the Buffalo Sabres will host the struggling Calgary Flames.
Both teams are having a difficult time in the league and are way down in the NHL power rankings at the moment.
Who will take the points in Buffalo tonight?
- 01Buffalo Sabres (2.55) vs Calgary Flames (2.40)
- 02Parlay Pick: Buffalo Sabres to win & under 6.5 total (3.95)
- 03Massachusetts man to get one, Jack Eichel anytime scorer (2.50)
Buffalo Sabres (2.55) vs Calgary Flames (2.40)
Given that both sides aren’t exactly lighting the league up at the moment, this will be a great contest and as such is our NHL free pick of the day.
The problems run a lot deeper than simply not getting in the win column. Calgary seems to have some kind of internal problems that are spilling out onto the ice.
The Sabres aren’t in fine form, but they have a better offense and are playing better hockey right now.
Buffalo will likely go with Hutton in between the pipes for this one. However, he’s struggled a lot this season with a couple of shocking performances of late, which will give the Flames a little boost in offense.
Expect the Buffalo Sabres to edge the tie.
Parlay Pick: Buffalo Sabres to win & under 6.5 total (3.95)
The media storm at the moment surrounding coach Bill Peters and apparent inappropriate remarks to a former player is causing all kinds of issues in Calgary.
But things get no better for the team. They’ll have Derrick Rittich in goal tonight, who allowed three in 38 attempts in his last and has only one win in the last six. In offense, it’s even worse. They are averaging 1.25 gpg in their last 8 games.
The Sabres defense isn’t much better, allowing 3.6 goals per game in their last five. The recent results put them at 11-10-3 for the season outright.
The Flames have only managed one win in the last few weeks, which puts them at 11-12-4 overall.
Expect a Buffalo Sabres win & under 6.5 total.
Massachusetts man to get one, Jack Eichel anytime scorer (2.50)
The Sabres managed to overcome the Florida Panthers 5-2 in their last game, with the young Jack Eichel bagging himself a goal and 2 assists.
He has been playing well all season and leads the scoring tables for Buffalo, sitting on 14 goals and 16 assists for the season.
The NHL betting odds favour Eichel to be the most likely to score anytime during this matchup, so we thought we’d give him a shout in this one.
Jack has been carrying the Sabes on his shoulders this season, but they aren’t giving much back. He even got into a scuffle when Buffalo were 3 down last week against the Wild, who haven’t been great this year either.
Take Jack Eichel to score anytime.
