The Players Championship is one of the world golf's most iconic events. TPC Sawgrass at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida will host the next tournament from March 11 to 14, 2021. The best golfers on the planet are invited to participate and the purse is now higher than any of the four majors. 2019 RBC Canadian Open Champion Rory Mcllroy is the defending Players Champion.
It presents a great payday for the golfing elite, and you can share in the cash by checking out The Players Championship odds right here. This competition is one of the favourites among sports betting options in Canada. The odds are now available and are subject to change. The odds were last updated on February 1, 2021:
Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy took home the 2019 TPC trophy, and he is one of the big contenders in the odds to win the Players Championship 2021 market. He is the favourite to go back to back in 2021 at TPC Sawgrass.
McIlroy is one of a host of big names who will be vying for supremacy at The Players. Long time world number one Dustin Johnson is one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour and is never far back on the leaderboard. 2019 Masters winner Tiger Woods has surged back into Major contention in the last six months and may be of great value if he stays injury-free.

Other available Players betting odds
The Players betting odds are not just limited to the outright market. There is a huge selection of odds available, which gives you the flexibility you need to make a winning bet. We discuss several options below.
McIlroy and Woods will be top favourites in this category!
Our pick of the betting markets is the 'Best Previous Winner' market, which lets you select who you think will be the best player in 2021 out of the guys that previously lifted the trophy. Top contenders in this market include two-time winner Tiger Woods, 2019 winner Rory McIlroy and 2020 PGA Tour winner Dustin Johnson.
If you're finding it difficult to select a winner from a field of over 140 golfers, don't worry. You can also select players to finish high in the 'Top 20 Finish' market. Here, you can apply your golfing knowledge, as it will be much more profitable to pick an outsider than one of the favourites.
In 2019, young Englishman Eddie Pepperell defied the odds and finished in a tie for third at TPC - He was well over odds of 8.00 to do so. For an extensive list of all the types of golf bets, you can make, check out our golf odds page.
Who's favoured to win The Players Championship
American Brooks Koepka has surged up the world golf rankings recently as he has won the US Open and PGA Championships on two occasions. That makes him a candidate to dominate Men's golf for years to come. Koepka will still be less than 30 years old when The Players 2021 gets underway and he has at least a decade where the world could be at his feet.
He's fallen off a bit of late. Though we still fancy him to have a decent tournament. We think this is well worth a punt.
Alternatively, back the favourite Rory McIlroy. Of the other players, Rory McIlroy is the clear favourite to win the tournament. It has become folklore that the defending champion will never win at TPC Sawgrass - because it's never happened.
In fact, the winner from the previous year has never finished within four strokes of the new victor - can you afford to back against this curse?
Dustin Johnson simply needs to be brought up in The Players Championship picks to win conversation simply because he is Mr. Consistent. Despite not winning a major since the 2016 US Open, Johnson has managed to punch around the top-five in the world rankings for some time now. His inability to finish the job does worry us, but he should be considered a lock in the top-ten market.
There is a stack of other names that we could mention - any one of the top fifty golfers could potentially win at TPC in 2021.
To put that statement into context, 2018 winner Webb Simpson hadn't won on the tour in five years prior to his success. All it took (it was no small feat) was a round of 63 to tie the course record and set up an unassailable lead.
Our pick for 2021 at this VERY early stage is Dustin Johnson. He's simply too good a player to not go on a run at TPC Sawgrass. Don't bet against Johnson hitting a 63 either - he is certainly capable of it.

How many players make the cut at The Players Championship?
Is the Players Championship a major?
The Open is a typical stroke-play golf tournament where the lowest scoring player over four rounds is declared the winner.
In the event that two or more players are tied at the end of the four rounds,a playoff will be enforced. This involves the leaders playing three extra hole(s) to determine the outright winner, and if the scores are still tied, sudden-death playoff holes will ensue until there is one clear winner.
Out of a field of approximately 140, which is one of the biggest on tour, around half will be 'cut' after the first two rounds.
Typically, the players eligible to continue to the final rounds will be in the top-70 on the leaderboard, although if there are too many players tied on or around the cut-line, a 54 player cut may also be enforced to reduce the number of rounds played over the weekend.
The Players Championship is often mistaken for a major, because of its status as one of the PGA Tour's flagship events. It has also been dubbed the 'Fifth Major' for this reason.
But no, The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass is not a major.
All-time list of winners
The Players Championship has been held since 1974 and yet in this time, there has only been one player who has recorded more than two victories - the great Jack Nicklaus, who won in 1974, 1976 and 1978.
However, Nicklaus won all three events before the tournament was moved to 'the Stadium Course' in 1982. Since that time, only five players have managed to win the event twice:
Fred Couples (1984, 1996)
Steve Elkington (1991, 1997)
Hal Sutton (1983, 2000)
Davis Love III (1992, 2003)
Tiger Woods (2001, 2013)
