Best NHL Player Props Today (4/15/26)

Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander (88) pursues the play against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first period at Scotiabank Arena.

In this article, Canada Sports Betting’s Nick Martin breaks down the two best NHL player prop picks that provide value at online sportsbooks today (4/15/26).

We got moving back in the right direction with a 2-0 night on Tuesday, and these player prop guides now hold a record of +7.52 units across 173 selections this season.

Mika Zibanejad Over 2.5 Shots on Goal: +115 (Play to +110)

Zibanejad is very much a known product at the NHL level and has generally offered consistent shot volume in the time he’s played alongside Gabriel Perreault and Alexis Lafreniere, while he still remains the primary shooter on the Rangers’ top power play.

For those reasons this seems to be a good time to buy low on Zibanejad, despite the fact that he has failed to record over 2.5 shots on goal in seven straight games. He’s averaged 2.7 shots on goal over the last 30 games and averaged 5.1 shot attempts per game in that span.

Those numbers may not be entirely eye-popping, but they are solid when we consider that the price has ticked up to +115, and that the Tampa Bay Lightning may not be overly stingy defensively on Wednesday playing in a meaningless game with many regulars set to miss Wednesday’s matchup.

Zibanejad leads all Rangers skaters with 33 goals and has averaged 20:39 of time on ice following the Olympic break. Given his style of play and current role, his recent shot volume is likely due to improve, and at +115, there’s value betting into that idea Wednesday as he takes the ice for the final time this season.

William Nylander Over 2.5 Shots on Goal: -130 (Play to -140)

Nylander has consistently offered strong shot volume down the stretch, which is no surprise given that he is the most dynamic forward and top remaining goal-scoring threat in the Maple Leafs lineup. Over the last 12 games, Nylander has averaged 3.08 shots per game and 6.25 shot attempts per game. He’s attempted seven or more shots in six of the last seven games.

The Ottawa Senators have generally been the worst matchup for opposing shooters in the NHL this season and, as we will touch on later today in our playoff previews, play a style that should make them a very tough out this postseason if the goaltending holds up.

Jake Sanderson, Thomas Chabot, Tim Stutzle, Brady Tkachuk, and Michael Amadio are set to rest Wednesday. That still does leave some quality defensive forwards and underrated defenders in the lineup, but this does present as a much more livable spot to back Nylander in this market than it would be with all of those top talents in the Senators lineup.
