Best NHL Anytime Goal Scorer Parlay Picks Today (4/14/26)

Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin (8) skates during the warmup before a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.

Our three best NHL anytime goal scorer parlay picks for today (4/14/26) prices out at +3376 for hockey bettors looking to take a chance on a lottery ticket at the best NHL betting sites. The picks also appear to hold standalone value as straight bets, something worth noting given that we have had lots of success hitting two of our three legs on these bets this season.

Anytime goal-scorer bets are among the most exciting bets available in any sport. The rush of hitting a long shot goal scorer is hard to match, but even the NHL’s top scorers are less than 50% likely to score on average, and it is a volatile market subject to randomness, so as always, we do recommend staying within your means. Regardless of the score, any uncashed goal-scorer bet is still live to win, while hitting this type of wager early in any matchup is also extremely satisfying.

Matthew Schaefer +310

Backing Schaefer to record three or more shots on goal made the cut for Tuesday’s player prop best bets piece, with part of our logic being that Schaefer will be motivated to pour shots on target in need of one more goal to stand alone with the record for most goals by a rookie defenceman in NHL history.

At the time of writing, it is unclear which regulars will be out for the Carolina Hurricanes in this matchup, but as the Hurricanes have secured the Eastern Conference’s top seed, the list will presumably remain quite lengthy, making this a more reasonable spot for Schaefer and the Islanders to generate offence.

Though Schaefer has struggled to finish of late relative to the majority of the season, he has still been getting plenty of chances. Over the last 10 games, Schaefer has averaged eight shot attempts per game, and has not looked like a rookie that is wearing thin after the long grind of an 82-game regular season.

We should see the Islanders push the pace offensively in this matchup, as they look to show some pride in what is head coach Pete DeBoer’s fourth game as bench boss. The Islanders’ top player will be aware of the record at stake, and I’d expect a little leniency from the team in helping Schaefer, who’s arguably been the team’s best skater this season, earn a very impressive record.

Alexander Ovechkin +165

Alex Ovechkin started his incredible career with a two-goal performance versus the Columbus Blue Jackets on October 5th, 2005. While we don’t know for certain if Tuesday’s matchup will be the last game of the Great Eight’s illustrious career, it certainly may be, and I’m willing to take a shot on the narrative that he will cap it off in fitting fashion with goal No. 930.

As with our Schaefer pick, the Capitals roster will likely reach to help their guy find the back of the net in this matchup, and every skater on the roster would surely be pleased to factor in on Ovechkin’s potential last career goal. Head coach Spencer Carbery will also certainly award Ovechkin as many minutes as he can handle.

The Blue Jackets have allowed 3.30 goals against per game over the last 10 matchups and present as a solid target in a game featuring a high total of 6.5.

And while we are reaching toward the narrative here to some extent, Ovechkin has been finding the back of the net pretty consistently down the stretch, with 10 goals over his last 20 games.

The Capitals’ new-look power play has looked more efficient with Ilya Protas skating on the top unit and Cole Hutson quarterbacking the second unit, which is relevant given that Ovechkin generally plays the majority of the two minutes.

If the Capitals are leading late, we also will have the backdoor possibility of a late empty-net goal from Ovechkin, as the team would cheat hard to let Ovechkin cap the game off if that situation arose.

Jimmy Snuggerud +220

Since the Olympic break, the St. Louis Blues have played to a points percentage of .717, which is the second-best mark in the NHL. Excellent play in goal has been a huge part of the team’s turnaround, while the other major causation of the upswing has been the incredible play of the top line of Robert Thomas, Snuggerud, and Dylan Holloway.

Across 228.2 minutes of play this season, the Holloway-Thomas-Snuggerud trio has scored 5.26 goals per 60, and outscored opponents 20-5.

Both Thomas and Holloway have done a good job of helping to create chances for Snuggerud, who is an excellent shooter, a strength that has become more apparent in the final third of the year, with the talented rookie netting a team-high 12 goals over his final 27 games played.

Snuggerud’s recent scoring chance generation has been very impressive, as over the last five games he has averaged 0.90 individual expected goals per game.

Snuggerud will have a great opportunity to once again generate plenty of scoring chances Tuesday, as the Pittsburgh Penguins have confirmed that Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Rickard Rakell, Bryan Rust, Egor Chinakhov, Erik Karlsson, Kris Letang, Samuel Girard, and Parker Wotherspoon will rest.

With the vast majority of Pittsburgh’s top skaters resting in Tuesday’s matchup, this becomes an excellent spot to target Snuggerud finding the back of the net at a price of +220.
