The Tim Hortons Brier, known more commonly as the Brier is the top curling competition in Canada and is the annual winner-take-all tournament in men’s curling. Held annually since 1927, the winner of the Brier normally goes on to represent Canada in the World Curling Championships as they are held in the same year. In terms of popularity though, the Brier is in many ways even more popular than the World Championships for Canadians. Since the competition became sponsored by Tim Hortons in 2005, Alberta has been the dominant locale with eight wins including the gold medal in 2021.

Below, CSB will break down the top four province contenders to take home the championship later this week.

Winners of the bronze medal at the 2017 Brier tournament, Ontario has the third-most top three finishes of all-time at the Brier. While they have not had as much success as of late, the squad does have some of the most decorated curlers of all time to lean on. Skip Glenn Howard has won four world championships, while his son Scott has also tasted world championship glory as well. Their leadership will be paramount in order for Ontario to have a chance at the gold medal.
