About the Blue Jays (55-45 SU, 45-55 ATS, 43-52-5 o/u)

The Blue Jays are clinging to the final Wild Card spot in the American League entering play on Monday, holding a two-game advantage over both the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has really found his power stroke since winning the Home Run Derby earlier this month, launching four homers in nine games since the break, including jacks in back-to-back contests. He’s +425 to homer on Monday.

Brandon Belt has also been feeling it at the plate, launching homers in consecutive games. He’s +390 to go deep against the Dodgers.

About the Dodgers (57-41 SU, 55-43 ATS, 57-36-5 o/u)

The Dodgers will be playing their first home game since July 8 on Monday, which will open a nine-game homestand for the club.

Los Angeles is coming off a high-profile series against the AL West-leading Texas Rangers. The Dodgers torched Texas for 31 runs in the series, but the majority of those runs were scored during a 16-3 thumping of the Rangers on Saturday.

The Dodgers, who are the best over team in baseball (hitting the over 61.3% of the time), have won five straight series to open up a four-game lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL West.

Probable pitchers

Toronto: RHP Jose Berrios (8-7, 3.39 ERA, 8.6 K/9, 1.16 WHIP)

Berrios has been excellent in July, allowing just three earned runs in 18 1/3 innings pitched while holding opponents to a .190 batting average this month. The righty held the San Diego Padres to just two runs over six innings in his last start while striking out nine. Berrios hasn’t faced the Dodgers since 2017, when he coughed up four runs in four innings while pitching for the Minnesota Twins.

Los Angeles: RHP Michael Grove (2-2, 6.40 ERA, 8.13 K/9, 1.54 WHIP)

The rookie right-hander seems to finally be finding his grove after a brutal start. Grove has posted consecutive wins for the first time in his career and is coming off a solid start against Baltimore in which he allowed just a single run over five innings. After being shelled for 16 runs in 21 innings of work in June, Grove has allowed just six runs over his last three starts while utilizing his cut fastball (one of his five pitches) more recently.

Forecasts are calling for temperatures around 25C and partly cloudy skies. Winds will be blowing out to centre field at 12 km/h.

  • Will Smith is riding a six-game hitting streak and has four multi-hit performances during that span. He’s -260 to get a hit and +125 to record over 1.5 total bases.
  • Freddie Freeman has scored at least one run in six straight games. He’s -115 to plate in this one.
  • Brandon Belt has hit safely in four straight games and is -155 to record over 0.5 bases and +155 to go over 1.5 hits.

Wagers to consider

  • Daulton Varsho has two homers in five career at-bats vs. Grove, but he’s homerless in 51 at-bats this month. He’s +425 to break out and go deep in this one.
  • Mookie Betts is slashing .313/.420/.642 this month and has a .438 average with two homers and four RBIs in 16 career at-bats vs. Berrios. He’s +215 to record two or more hits and +360 to homer.
  • Bet Boost: Same-Game Parlay – Dodgers to win, teams combine for over 8.5 runs scored, Dodgers to record most hits: +350.
