Virginia to make it to the Sweet Sixteen
Virginia has looked strong in the Atlantic Coast this season going 18-6 overall. We expect their form to continue at March Madness if they can get clearance to play after the recent COVID-19 scare.
The Cavaliers have a lot of talent in their team, the likes of Kyle Guy and De’Andre Hunter will be players they turn to this year. Tony Bennett has his team playing his brand of basketball and that will shine through.
The Cavs are likely to go far this year, with that being said the Sweet 16 should be at the very least in the eyes of the team. This offers value on them to make it at 2.00. Take a look at some of the other teams to make it to the Sweet 16 at 888sport.
To make the Sweet 16
Illinois Eliminated before Gonzaga
The Zags have been our number 1 team for some time now. They’ve been absolutely unstoppable this season and it’s something we’re expecting to see a lot more of through until the start of April. The Zags will be the team to beat at this tournament.
It’s clear from the stats that this team means business - sitting in first place for offensive efficiency, fourth in temp and tenth in defensive efficiency. A team in the NCAA that is good on both ends will always go far against the rest of the field.
With that said, there’s not much value in wagering on Gonzaga to win. However, if you believe this team will make it all the way, Illinois to go out before Gonzaga comes in at 1.47. This is the value bet for this looking to back the Bulldogs.

Knocked out before Gonzaga
Baylor Elite 8 Loss
March Madness is full of upsets - assuming an upset is a heavy favourite losing out to an assumed lesser opponent. Accepting that definition, we’ve seen over 10 upsets in 28 of the last 47 seasons. So, probability says we’ll likely see another one this season.
Given that, Baylor has looked very strong this season, but so have many other teams in the NCAA. As the teams narrow it down, we’ll see a strong pool of teams; the likes of Gonzaga who we back to make it all the way this season.
Baylor is 22-2 overall this season. But if you fancy a big team to slip up this season, this is a value bet at 3.75. A bad matchup may come about in the Elite 8 and cause an unexpected result.
