Our Magic vs. Raptors Predictions
- Franz Wagner: Under 24.5 points
- Scottie Barnes: Over 1.5 three-pointers made
- Desmond Bane: Over 2.5 three-pointers made
Franz Wagner under 24.5 points
We are backing another productive all-around performance from Wagner that stops short of 25 points.
Wagner remains the central hub of Orlando’s half-court offence with Paolo Banchero sidelined by an ankle sprain and Jalen Suggs out with a knee contusion. While the fourth-year forward is seeing heavy usage, that concentrated offensive burden allows opposing defences to shade extra help, trap pick-and-rolls, and collapse driving lanes toward the rim.
Toronto head coach Darko Rajakovic deployed lengthy wing combinations to contest Wagner’s downhill attacks on Wednesday, forcing him into contested mid-range looks and kick-out passes. While Wagner contributes reliably through playmaking and rebounding, Toronto’s defensive length makes exceeding 24.5 points an uphill battle. We are leaning toward Wagner Under 24.5 full-game points.
Scottie Barnes over 1.5 three-pointers made
Barnes’ expanding perimeter confidence and shot volume make the plus-money price on Over 1.5 made threes our preferred play.
With Kawhi Leonard sidelined by knee soreness, Barnes has assumed primary initiator responsibilities for Toronto. Opposing defences continue to drop into the paint against his drives, daring the All-Star forward to beat them from beyond the arc. Barnes has shown zero hesitation in accepting that challenge, stepping into rhythm pull-up three-pointers above the break.
Barnes has hoisted at least four attempts from long range in three of his first four regular-season games. Against an Orlando defence that packs the paint to protect the rim, Barnes will have clean pick-and-pop looks. At plus-money odds, backing him to knock down two triples carries strong value.
Desmond Bane over 2.5 three-pointers made
Bane’s pure shooting volume provides a dependable foundation to target the Over on his made three-pointers.
Bane has operated as Orlando’s primary perimeter release valve, firing off nine or more attempts from beyond the arc in three of his first four contests this season. Orlando’s offensive sets consistently feature elevator screens, pin-downs, and handoffs designed to free Bane on the wing.
Toronto’s defensive scheme frequently over-helps on baseline drives, leaving weak-side corner shooters open. With Orlando needing perimeter production to keep pace with Toronto’s transition offence, Bane will see the shot volume required to clear 2.5 makes without needing an anomalous shooting night.

Betting the Magic (1-3 SU, 1-3 ATS, 2-2 o/u)
Orlando arrives at Scotiabank Arena seeking greater half-court cohesion. Missing Banchero and Suggs places a heavy playmaking tax on Wagner, Bane, and Anthony Black, requiring the Magic to generate second-chance opportunities and protect the ball against Toronto’s aggressive perimeter traps.
Transition defence will be the decisive factor for head coach Jamahl Mosley’s squad. When Orlando manages live-ball turnovers and forces Toronto to operate strictly in the half-court, their interior size can neutralize paint attempts. If they cough up live-ball giveaways, however, Toronto has the athleticism to run away in transition.
Betting the Raptors (3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS, 1-3 o/u)
Toronto’s emphasis remains pushing tempo and finding early-clock opportunities. Barnes and Immanuel Quickley have pushed the pace at every opportunity, exploiting defensive mismatches before Orlando’s half-court shell can set.
With Kawhi Leonard out, secondary scoring will determine whether Toronto covers the spread. RJ Barrett and Quickley must continue attacking closeouts off the bounce to punish Orlando for collapsing on Barnes. If Toronto executes on the defensive glass and limits Orlando to one-and-done possessions, they are positioned to secure a comfortable home victory.
