Oilers vs. Kings Prediction, Picks, And Odds (10/13/26)

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard (2) shoots against the Utah Mammoth during the second period at Delta Center

Edmonton brings a four-game winning streak into Tuesday night’s visit to Los Angeles, and we’re taking the Oilers moneyline with confidence.

The Oilers face the Kings at Crypto.com Arena on Oct. 13, 2026, with puck drop scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET. Edmonton beat San Jose 3–1 on Oct. 10, while Los Angeles lost 2–1 in overtime at Vegas that night.

Oilers vs. Kings Prediction

Edmonton Oilers moneyline

Edmonton’s offence gives us the clearest reason to back the visitors. The Oilers are 4–1 with 25 goals scored and 17 allowed through five regular-season games. Los Angeles is winless at 0–4, scoring 10 goals and allowing 17 through four.

The defensive side is the catch. Both clubs have conceded 17 goals, and Edmonton has needed its stronger attack to offset that vulnerability. If Los Angeles slows the Oilers’ rush game and turns this into a tighter contest, the scoring contrast may count for much less.

Five games for Edmonton and four for Los Angeles do not establish a lasting gap between these teams. We’ll back Edmonton at the quoted price of -135.

Betting Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers’ four consecutive wins followed their season-opening loss. A 5–2 victory over Anaheim on Oct. 7 offered another example of the attack carrying its share of the load, before Edmonton held San Jose to one goal in its latest outing.

Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins are listed as absent, while defenceman Jake Walman is day-to-day. Those availability concerns temper the enthusiasm: the winning run does not erase the importance of missing forwards or uncertainty on the blue line.

An Action Network preview published by Yahoo Sports describes Vasily Podkolzin playing alongside Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, with a spot on the top power-play unit and a net-front role finishing chances created by those linemates. That gives Edmonton another route to turn its offensive pressure into goals, although the combination is not confirmed for Tuesday night.

Betting Los Angeles Kings

A 2–1 loss to Florida on Oct. 6 provides another recent example of the Kings struggling to score enough to win. Kevin Fiala is also listed as absent. Los Angeles needs more attacking support, but its plans to disrupt Edmonton are the stronger counterargument to our pick.

The Hockey Writers describes a 1-3-1 neutral-zone alignment intended to slow rush attacks, along with practice work on tighter defensive gaps. Having Drew Doughty and Brandt Clarke play closer to opposing wingers is designed to disrupt passing lanes and force dump-ins. Making Edmonton work for entries, rather than allowing clean rush chances, is a plausible way to blunt the Oilers’ offensive edge.

The analysis also outlines an attacking combination in which Artemi Panarin draws defenders from the half-wall, opening high-slot space for Adrian Kempe while Quinton Byfield retrieves pucks below the goal line. Trevor Moore, Erik Haula and Alex Laferriere were being tested together in heavy defensive-zone starts, aiming to absorb difficult matchups and create secondary chances through forechecking.

On the power play, the described approach places Panarin on the left flank, Kempe on the right wall and Clarke at the point, with rapid puck movement intended to pull the penalty kill out of position. These are tactical aims and combinations, not confirmed game-night deployment. If the Kings can turn that work into cleaner entries denied and better chances created, Edmonton’s recent results will offer little protection for this wager.

  • Adrian Kempe has gone over 2.5 shots on goal in four straight games and is around -120 to beat that mark again Tuesday.
  • Vasily Podkolizin is taking a seven-game points streak into action on Tuesday, averaging 1.4 per game during that span. He’s around -130 to get a point.
  • Connor McDavid has recorded at least one assist in five straight games and is a steep -185 to extend that run.
