2026 NHL Pacific Division Odds, Predictions, And Betting Preview

The Pacific may be the softest division in hockey, and that’s exactly what makes it worth betting. Our NHL Pacific Division season predictions start at the top, where Edmonton and Vegas are the only teams priced as genuine contenders, and Edmonton arrives with new coach Mike Babcock and three goaltenders competing for one job. Behind them the picture gets murky fast: Anaheim is coming off 92 points but lost most of its scoring, San Jose has spent heavily on defence after finishing just short, and Los Angeles is aging in the wrong places. At the bottom, Seattle, Calgary and Vancouver are all in some stage of teardown. Here are our odds and best bets for all eight teams.

Edmonton Oilers

Betting prediction: To win the Pacific Division (+160)

The retooled Oilers should prevail in an overall weak division under the new tutelage of head coach Mike Babcock, who should bring some much-needed discipline and toughness to the squad.

Having Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, two of the best players in the world, on the roster certainly makes the Oilers contenders for the division title on a yearly basis, and the team also made strides to improve its goaltending situation, which has plagued previous playoff runs. Devon Levi and veteran Frederik Andersen were brought in to compete with Tristan Jarry for the starting job, and the Oilers are hoping that one of the three grabs the starting job and runs with it at some point.

Vegas Golden Knights

Betting prediction: Under 103.5 points (-105)

The Golden Knights won the division with just 95 points a season ago, and although they should still easily snatch a playoff spot, they’re candidates to regress slightly in 2026-27.

Losing top-six forward Pavel Dorofeyev to the Rangers via free agency certainly hurts the team from an offensive production standpoint, and captain Mark Stone, now 34 years old, isn’t getting any younger after a few injury-plagued seasons.

The Golden Knights still have some elite talent with Mitch Marner and Jack Eichel, and their defence corps is solid with Rasmus Andersson and Shea Theodore leading the group. And the goalie tandem of Adin Hill and Carter Hart should be serviceable, but not elite.

All things being said, look for the Knights to come in right around the 100-point mark this season, just shy of expectations.

Anaheim Ducks

Betting prediction: Under 95.5 points (-145)

We’re fading the Ducks in this market after a tumultuous offseason that saw several key players leave town, including Chris Kreider and Mason McTavish. Add in the fact that top winger Troy Terry is out until November after hip surgery, and it’s hard to see how the Ducks will improve on their 92 points from a year ago.

An offer sheet forced the Ducks to overpay star forward Leo Carlsson to an $18 million AAV deal, further handicapping the club from a salary cap perspective, leaving them with just $2 million in cap space to begin the season.

The Ducks are a decent bet to still make the playoffs at -140 odds given the huge dropoff in talent in this division after Edmonton and Vegas, but 96 points seems a little too ambitious and like a more shrewd bet.

LA Kings

Betting prediction: Kings to miss the playoffs (+155)

The Kings brought in a ton of veteran talent over the summer in an attempt to stay relevant in the playoff conversation, but it likely won’t be enough.

There’s a serious dip in talent after the top line of Artemi Panarin, Quinton Byfield, and Adrian Kempe, and there really isn’t much to be excited about from a defensive perspective other than the continued development of Brandt Clarke.

Drew Doughty is the new captain of this squad, but he’s no longer the perennial All-Star at age 36 he once was during the prime of his career.

San Jose Sharks

Betting prediction: Sharks over 94.5 points (-115)

The surging Sharks came up just short of the playoffs with 86 points last year, prompting the front office to ramp up the rebuild with some notable additions this summer.

Jacob Trouba, Darnell Nurse and Michael Kesselring will address San Jose’s biggest weakness from a year ago: defence. And although some of the new long-term contracts to these three players may haunt them in the long run, it will certainly help in the short term. With some much-needed veteran help on defence, the Sharks should make another leap this season into a potential playoff spot.

We like them to notch 95 points given the expanded schedule this season and hope to see phenom Macklin Celebrini get his first taste of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Seattle Kraken

Betting prediction: Under 80.5 points (-130)

Seattle finished with 79 points last season, and the market moved them up only three, which sounds conservative until you account for the 84-game schedule.

The team’s underwhelming offseason won’t instill much confidence in the group, which now is banking on the internal development of Shane Wright and Matty Beniers in order to become a playoff contender.

Top defenceman Vince Dunn is playing in the final year of his contract and is a prime candidate to be moved before the trade deadline, further complicating matters for the lowly Kraken.

Calgary Flames

Betting prediction: Fade Dustin Wolf for the Vezina Trophy at +5000

It might be tempting to take a flier on Wolf to win the award as the league’s top goaltender at long 50-1 odds given his elite skillset. But Vezina voting follows wins and team defence, and Calgary will supply neither. If he’s priced inside the top 15, that’s a market to sell rather than buy.

Wolf posted a disappointing minus-1.8 Goals Saved Above Expected in 57 games last season, and you can bet backup Devin Cooley, who quietly recorded a plus-17.3 Goals Saved Above Expected mark in 31 games, will get a much bigger workload with the team having nothing to really play for.

This rebuilding Flames squad is a straightforward fade in many futures markets, so don’t be tempted by Wolf as a long shot in the Vezina race.

Vancouver Canucks

Betting prediction: Canucks to have the worst regular season record (+325)

Vancouver was already the NHL’s worst team last season, finishing 25-49-8 with 58 points, and the roster has gotten thinner since. The Canucks ranked last in goals against and last on the penalty kill while sitting 30th in goals per game—the lone bright spot was a power play carried by DeBrusk’s 19 goals.

Then they traded Quinn Hughes. Moving the best defenceman in franchise history returned Zeev Buium, Marco Rossi and Liam Ohgren, but none of them fix a lacklustre blue line in the short term.

This is a full teardown by design. New coach Manny Malhotra wants a heavy defensive structure and inherited a roster built for nothing of the sort, and the market agrees: Vancouver’s points total fell 16, the steepest drop in hockey.
