Our Marlins vs. Blue Jays prediction for Tuesday night centers on whether Toronto can bounce back at home after a rough series opener against Miami. With Ernie Clement swinging a hot bat and Sandy Alcantara showing some volatility this season, this matchup presents a strong betting angle for the Blue Jays to respond in a higher-scoring game at Rogers Centre.
Toronto still has plenty of offensive upside despite several injuries, and Clement’s recent production makes him one of the most intriguing player props on the board. Miami, meanwhile, enters with momentum and a dangerous running game, so this prediction hinges on whether the Blue Jays can turn the page quickly and cash in on their scoring chances.
Marlins vs. Blue Jays prediction
Ernie Clement over 1.5 total bases: +160 @ ToonieBet
Clement over 1.5 total bases
Clement is by far the hottest hitter on the Blue Jays roster right now, and he’s coming off a two-hit performance in the series opener Monday that included a solo homer for five total bases.
The infielder is slashing a solid .417/.440/.708 with a 1.148 OPS over the last seven days, and his slash line at Rogers Centre has also been exceptional this season (.315/.336/.477).
Clement, who is taking an eight-game hitting streak into action Tuesday, has cleared 1.5 total bases in 42% of his games this season, which means we’re getting exceptional value on this player prop at +160 odds (38.5% implied odds).
Clement has never faced Alcantara before, but his exceptional contact skills and .306 batting average against fastballs this year should play well against the hard-throwing Marlins right-hander.
As always, make sure you shop around for the most favourable odds at the best MLB betting sites before locking in any wagers.
Greg’s Blue Jays predictions have gone 14-8-2 for +3.69 units this season.

Betting the Marlins (26-29 SU, 25-30 ATS, 34-20-2 o/u)
The Marlins earned their fourth straight victory with a convincing 8-2 win over the Blue Jays in the series opener on Monday night.
After struggling early in the game against Toronto starting pitcher Trey Yesavage, the Marlins eventually got to the young right-hander for five runs on five hits. Yesavage had allowed just three earned runs in his five previous starts this season.
Javier Sanoja and Canadian outfielder Owen Caissie had two hits apiece in the victory.
Bettors should be aware that the Marlins lead the majors in stolen bases with 62, although they failed to steal a bag in Monday’s series opener.
Betting the Blue Jays (25-29 SU, 26-28 ATS, 26-27-1 o/u)
Outfielder Nathan Lukes returned from the injury list Monday to record three hits, but the Blue Jays left 10 runners on base and went just for 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
Slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. didn’t play on Monday after getting hit on the elbow with a pitch on Sunday. He’s considered day-to-day and could be available for Toronto on Tuesday. His importance to the lineup on a nightly basis shouldn’t be understated and bettors should monitor his status leading up to first pitch. Vladdy is 5-for-11 in his career against Alcantara with a home run and four RBIs.
Yesavage threw 6 2/3 innings on Monday, leaving Toronto’s bullpen in good shape heading into Tuesday’s contest.
Probable starting pitchers
Miami: RHP Sandy Alcantara (3-3, 4.00 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 6.20 K/9)
Alcantara has been extremely hot and cold this season. He’s held the opposition to three runs or less in eight of his 11 starts this season, but three horrific starts against the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, and Detroit Tigers have skewed his stats.
In his last start against Atlanta, Alcantara surrendered six earned runs on nine hits, including a pair of homers.
However, he does rank in the 89th percentile in fastball velocity (97.2 mph) and is the owner of a very respectable 3.36 xERA.
Toronto: RHP Braydon Fisher (2-1, 2.73 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 9.40 K/9)
Fisher will serve as the opener in this contest before likely handing the ball over to Spencer Miles for a bulk role. As previously stated, Toronto is in good shape for a bullpen day after Yesavage game it some length on Monday night.
Fisher has been incredible at Rogers Centre this season, posting a 1.23 ERA while holding opponents to a .111 batting average across almost 15 innings.
