An anytime goal-scorer bet is one of the most popular and straightforward player prop wagers in NHL betting. It allows you to bet on a specific player to score a goal at any point during the game, whether it’s the first goal, last goal, or any goal in between. This bet type offers an exciting way to stay engaged with the game, as your selected player can score at any moment to cash your bet.
Let’s take a look at three skaters to parlay to score a goal in the NHL on Tuesday night, which prices out at +3424 on bet365, and could also be played as a round robin wager.
Nick’s Anytime Goal-Scorer parlay
Kirill Marchenko to Score: +165
Though Marchenko ranks third on the Columbus Blue Jackets with 10 goals in 28 games played this season, he is the best goal-scorer on the team, and Tuesday’s matchup versus the Anaheim Ducks looks to be a great spot to back some offence from a Columbus side that has lost five straight.
The Ducks will be wrapping up a five-game Eastern road trip in Tuesday’s matchup, having earned a 4-1 overtime win Monday at MSG. Though head coach Joel Quenneville’s side is off to a strong 20-12-1 start, they have done so in large part due to excellent offensive play, as well as excellent goaltending from Lukas Dostal, who started Monday and is expected to rest in this matchup.
Throughout the first four games of the road trip, the Ducks have allowed an eye-popping 4.96 xGA/60 and 32.37 shots against per 60. They have allowed 3.27 goals against per game this season despite excellent play from Dostal and appear to be regressing defensively as of late.
Marchenko tallied 31 goals in 79 games last season, and by no means does that mark seem to be a fluke. He’s developed into a force in all areas of the ice, but his shooting ability is without a doubt still his greatest asset.
In six games since returning from injury, Marchenko has racked up 18 shots on goal from 40 attempts and surprisingly finished two of those chances despite the fact that without question he is an above-average shooter. Four of those games came versus above-average sides at suppressing goal scoring, and all six have been versus drastically worse matchups than the Ducks are, with Ville Husso likely to start in goal.
William Nylander to Score: +180
Nylander will be looking to snap a seven-game goalless drought in Tuesday’s matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks. His recent chance creation numbers aren’t overly impressive either. Still, we certainly aren’t betting this just because Nylander is “due,” but rather because of where the price has gotten to with the Maple Leafs set to face off against one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL, and Nylander’s promotion back onto the top line.
After spending three games playing alongside Dakota Joshua and Nicolas Roy on Toronto’s third line, head coach Craig Berube moved Nylander onto the top unit alongside Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies at Monday’s practice. Though Matthews is currently looking like a shell of his former self, it’s still a change that without question should help Nylander get more chances Tuesday than he has been recently.
As you would expect, Nylander, Knies, and Matthews have been highly productive offensively when together this season, having scored 5.36 goals per 60 in 67.1 minutes of play.
Nylander has hit the 40-goal plateau in three straight seasons and ranks seventh in the NHL in regular season goals scored during that span. At +180, the price for Nylander to score is up significantly from where it has typically been over the last two years and all of the skaters in a similar tier from a goal-scoring perspective in that span that are playing Tuesday hold prices of below +135 to score, and they aren’t playing the Blackhawks.
Over the last 10 games, the Blackhawks have allowed 3.49 xGA/60 and 3.6 goals against per game where it counts.
At +180, we are getting a good price to back Nylander snapping his seven-game drought in a favourable matchup as he elevates back into a more suitable offensive role.
Yegor Sharangovich to Score: +375
One of the many offensive concerns for the Calgary Flames over the last season and a third has been the disappointing play of Yegor Sharangovich, who tallied 31 goals in his first season with Calgary after coming over via trade from the New Jersey Devils.
Sharangovich has elevated his game recently with three goals over the last four games, playing on what has been a highly effective top line alongside Nazem Kadri and Joel Farabee. In 158.8 minutes together, the trio has scored 4.16 goals per 60 and generated 3.36 xGF/60.
Sharangovich’s recent output of scoring chances is drastically higher than it was earlier on in the season. Over the last five games, Sharangovich has had 26 shot attempts and generated 2.68 expected goals. Considering his long price of +375, those numbers are quite encouraging.
Though he’s not been worthy of a more suitable role, Sharangovich does not really profile as a skater that fits inside of an NHL bottom six, which has been part of the issue over the last two years. Now that he’s elevated his game, he’s earned a more suitable role, and started to find greater production as a result.
Tuesday’s matchup versus the San Jose Sharks is a good one, as San Jose holds the eighth-worst goals against average in the NHL this season, and has allowed 3.66 xGA/60 over the last 10 games.
