An anytime goal-scorer bet is one of the most popular and straightforward player prop wagers in NHL betting. It allows you to bet on a specific player to score a goal at any point during the game, whether it’s the first goal, last goal, or any goal in between. This bet type offers an exciting way to stay engaged with the game, as your selected player can score at any moment to cash your bet.
Let’s take a look at three skaters to parlay to score a goal in the NHL on Tuesday night, which could also be played as a round robin wager.
Nick’s anytime goal-scorer parlay
Brady Tkachuk to Score: +155
It’s been a frustrating start to the year for the Ottawa Senators captain, who has missed the majority of the campaign due to a thumb injury and has recorded zero goals in five games played thus far after putting up 66 goals in 153 games over the previous two regular seasons.
In two games since returning to the lineup, Tkachuk has had 10 shots on target from 15 shot attempts and 1.20 expected goals. He’s had 20 shots on goal and 36 attempts in five games this season, so his lack of production has certainly not been due to a lack of chances.
The Montreal Canadiens have not been overly strong defensively of late, as over the last 10 games they have allowed 3.61 xGA/60 and 4.20 goals against per game where it counts. Jakub Dobes has stabilized recently with a trio of strong performances, but Tuesday’s starter, Sam Montembeault, still looks highly unconvincing. Montembeault has struggled to an .864 save percentage and 3.49 GAA in 13 appearances this season.
Tkachuk seems likely to break through sooner than later with his first of the season, and at +155, we seem to be getting a good price to back his first of the season coming Tuesday.
Alex DeBrincat to Score: +135
Based on his price of +135 to score in Tuesday’s matchup, DeBrincat is considered the eighth most likely skater to score out of tonight’s hefty 10-game slate. Oddsmakers are rightfully expecting the sniper to score fairly often in tonight’s matchup, but there’s an argument to be made that he’s still not getting enough credit considering his recent chance creation and production.
Over the last 10 games, DeBrincat has recorded eight goals and has been generating a ton of high-danger scoring chances, which is especially convincing given that he is one of the better pure goal-scorers in the league. During his 10-game tear DeBrincat has generated 6.42 expected goals, and his total of 14.9 expected goals this season ranks third in the NHL.
With Charlie McAvoy sidelined, the Boston Bruins are a strong candidate to allow DeBrincat to record his 13th goal of the campaign. Over the last 10 games, the Bruins have allowed 4.16 xGA/60, which is the second-worst mark in the NHL. Jeremy Swayman has been fantastic in goal, but this still has to be viewed as a plus matchup for DeBrincat to score for the Detroit Red Wings.
Braden Bowman to Score: +230
Bowman has had a strong start to his NHL career, tallying four goals and seven points throughout his first 10 games at hockey’s highest level. Bowman is a pure scorer, who has put up seven goals in 12 AHL games this season. The Vegas Golden Knights are certainly aware that his style of play is most suited to playing further up the lineup card, and they have immediately offered him those roles.
Bowman is expected to remain in a great role playing alongside Jack Eichel and Ivan Barbashev on the Golden Knights’ top line in Tuesday’s matchup, as well as on the team’s second power-play unit. In 10 NHL games, he’s generated 4.98 expected goals, which is pretty strong considering his shooting ability and the fact that this prop is priced at +230.
The Chicago Blackhawks have allowed 3.36 xGA/60 over the last 10 games, and have struggled to carry much of the overall run of play. Spencer Knight has been tremendous in goal, which prevents this from being a grade “A” matchup for Bowman to score, but it’s certainly still a strong look given the price tag of +230.
