An anytime goal-scorer bet is one of the most popular and straightforward player prop bets in NHL betting. It allows you to wager on a specific player to score a goal at any point during the game, whether it’s the first goal, last goal, or any goal in between. This bet type offers an exciting way to stay engaged with the game, as your selected player can score at any moment to cash your bet.
Let’s take a look at three skaters to parlay to score a goal in the NHL on Thursday night.

Jakob Chychrun +550 to score
Thankfully, Chychrun recorded his third shot of the game late in the third period on Wednesday against the St. Louis Blues, helping us avoid what would’ve been a very frustrating loss on a player that looked tremendous all night long.
Chychrun recorded three assists and nine shot attempts Wednesday, and Per HockeyStatcards, had the greatest positive impact on the game of any Washington Capitals skater.
Chychrun has not scored in six games, but he’s racked up 19 shots on target in that span, as well as 42 shot attempts. Many of his shot attempts aren’t quite as dangerous as the average attempt; however, he does feature a tremendous shot and is still getting enough high-quality looks to make +550 to score a goal quite enticing.
Chychrun should continue to get a similar amount of scoring chances for the time being, as the Capitals are currently rolling him out on the team’s top power-play unit and second defensive pairing. He recorded 20 goals in 74 games last season, and though he’s only netted a goal in three of 13 games this season, that’s actually still a strong argument towards a price of +550.
The Penguins were one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL last season, and after a surprisingly strong start to the year defensively, have allowed 3.40 xGA/60 over their last five games.

Owen Tippett +240 to score
Trevor Zegras has rightfully garnered the most attention from the media of all Philadelphia Flyers forwards this season, as the ultra-talented winger has racked up 15 points in his first 13 games with the team. Owen Tippett has also looked quite threatening to start the year, even if his five-goal, one-assist stat line is not overly impressive.
Now that Tippett is skating alongside Zegras on the Flyers’ top line, this appears to be a good time to back him tallying his sixth of the year at +240. Tippett recorded a game-high 0.99 expected goals in Tuesday’s matchup versus the Montreal Canadiens, pouring 11 attempts toward goal and six on target.
Philadelphia’s newly formed top line of Tippett, Zegras, and Christian Dvorak was completely dominant in Tuesday’s matchup, finishing with a 92.1% expected goal share in 12:49 of ice time together. Tippett also remains on the Flyers’ top power play, a unit that has succeeded on 20.9% of attempts so far this season.
The Nashville Predators have allowed 4.06 xGA/60 in the time that top defender Roman Josi has been sidelined and 3.66 goals against per game where it counts.
There is a lot to like about the way that Tippett has played offensively this season, as well as his current role alongside the red-hot Zegras, who is an excellent playmaker. The Predators provide a strong matchup for the Flyers offensively, and a price of +240 backing Tippett to score is worth a bet.

Sam Reinhart +165 to score
Dating back to the start of the 2023-24 regular season, Reinhart has racked up 102 goals for the Florida Panthers. Only Auston Matthews (110) and Leon Draisaitl (103) have scored more goals than Reinhart in that span, but based on today’s price, he’s not exactly being credited as a comparable goal-scorer.
The Los Angeles Kings were one of the best defensive teams in the NHL the previous two seasons, which is a key reason the price is as long as it is. However, the Kings have not been nearly as stingy defensively this season, as they rank 14th in goals against per game. It’s a small sample size, but Darcy Kuemper has been much less dominant to start the year, while the Kings’ new-look defensive core has offered much lesser play, which was expected entering the season.
With a record of 6-6-1 and Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk sidelined, Panthers head coach Paul Maurice does not exactly have the luxury of offering his remaining stars lesser workloads, as we saw throughout much of last season. Reinhart has played an average of 21:33 this season and generated a whopping 9.37 expected goals, which is the highest mark in the NHL.
Reinhart is considered the 13th most likely player to score from tonight’s NHL slate, and that seems to be disrespecting his historic production, current role, and lofty output of quality chances this season. At +165, Reinhart is a strong bet to score in tonight’s matchup.
