Team USA is of course led by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who has absolutely dominated the PGA Tour this season. However, Scheffler’s previous record in Ryder Cup competitions is just a mediocre 2-2-3, reflecting the true team nature of the event. Even Tiger Woods at the height of his golf career was mystified by Ryder Cup play, owning a miserable 12-21-3 career record at the event.

It’s notable that Team USA is rostering four rookies for the 2025 Ryder Cup, including 2025 U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun and World No. 3 Russell Henley.

LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau will also participate for the Americans. His superhuman length off the tee and charisma make him a fan favourite, and you can surely bet the home crowd at Bethpage Black will be in a frenzy if he can do something special. Although he hasn’t had much success in the Ryder Cup previously (2-3-1 record), his unique skillset is certainly an asset for Team USA.

The defending Ryder Cup champions are bringing back several familiar faces that helped them capture the Ryder Cup on home soil at Marco Simone Golf Club back in 2023, including World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who went an incredible 4-1-0 in that event to lead the Europeans to victory. He’ll be playing in his eighth Ryder Cup and is unquestionably the heartbeat and emotional leader of this Team Europe squad.

Joining McIlroy is 45-year-old Justin Rose, who will be making his seventh Ryder Cup appearance. His game was made for this event, as he owns an impressive 14-9-3 career record at the Ryder Cup, including a stellar 7-2-1 record in foursomes. Rose has averaged over 2.5 points per Ryder Cup appearance, making him an incredibly valuable asset to Team Europe.

Perhaps one disadvantage Team Europe has coming into this event is that the roster is front-loaded with talent. Matt Fitzpatrick owns a miserable 1-7-0 record in Ryder Cup play, and Rasmus Hojgaard will be making his Ryder Cup debut after his twin brother, Nicolai, played for Europe in 2024.

2025 Ryder Cup best bet

Bryson DeChambeau top overall points scorer and USA wins the Ryder Cup: +1600

We’re going to swing for the fences, just like Dechambeau typically does, on this prop at 16-1 odds. Several holes on this golf course this week, especially the par-4 first hole which will entice long hitters to go for the green off the tee, will be set up to reward risk-takers as well as punish them. If Bryson is locked in, he’ll have a tremendous advantage over the field and will surely incite the home crowd to get behind him. The YouTube golf star thrives on attention, and he’ll get plenty of it this week at Bethpage Black.

To add even more fuel to the fire, golf commentator Brandel Chamblee poked the bear earlier this week when he called DeChambeau “a captain’s nightmare” because of his inability to “blend in” with his Team USA teammates.

If Team USA captain Keegan Bradley can find the right partner for Bryson on Friday and Saturday and allow him to play freely and aggressively throughout team play, DeChambeau has a terrific chance to rack up points quickly.

As for the overall result, the home team has historically thrived in Ryder Cup, and this year should be no different. However, Team Europe should provide an incredibly stiff test for the Americans, potentially setting up a memorable event with a dramatic Sunday conclusion. We’ll also predict USA to win by a very slim 15-13 margin (+900 odds on a single bet).
