Bills vs. Rams Predictions, Odds, And Betting Preview (10/12/26)

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (17) runs onto the field before the game against the New York Jets at Highmark Stadium.

Buffalo’s 3–1 start and 127 points through four games give us reason to take the Bills +3.5 at -115 when they visit the Los Angeles Rams for Week 5 Monday Night Football on Oct. 12, 2026. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. This is a modest spread lean, not a strong wager: Los Angeles is the home favourite and comes off a 24–20 win over Philadelphia.

Containing Matthew Stafford is only part of Buffalo’s defensive assignment. “They’re a dynamic offence,” Bills head coach Joe Brady said on Oct. 8. “They’re also dynamic in the run game as well. And so, it’s a challenge anytime you go against that outfit…” That balance is a meaningful obstacle for a Bills team trying to recover from its first loss.

As always, compare prices at Canadian NFL betting sites before locking in a wager.

Bills vs. Rams Predictions

  • Bills +3.5 (-115): Buffalo’s early scoring production gives us a foundation for taking the points, but the number matters as much as the team. A three-point Bills defeat still cashes +3.5; a loss by four or more does not. Buffalo’s 29–26 loss to New England and the Rams’ win over Philadelphia temper confidence in a rebound. We prefer the cushion to backing Buffalo outright, and would not chase this lean at +3 or a less favourable price.

About the Bills (3–1 SU, 3-1 ATS, 3-1 o/u)

Buffalo followed its 24–16 win over the Chargers on Sept. 27 with a 29–26 loss to New England on Oct. 4. The Bills gained 344 total yards against the Patriots, including 253 passing yards. Josh Allen threw for 253 yards and one touchdown and added a rushing score, while Keon Coleman finished with 116 receiving yards. James Cook contributed 75 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Through four games, Allen has 1,039 passing yards, six passing touchdowns and three interceptions. Cook has 421 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, giving Buffalo substantial production on the ground alongside its passing attack.

The Patriots game also exposed execution problems. Buffalo Rumblings’ analysis identified repeated runs from heavy, under-centre formations that left the Bills behind the sticks and facing obvious passing downs. It also noted that New England anticipated Allen’s rollouts, leaving him unable to find open receivers. If Los Angeles can force those same uncomfortable situations, Buffalo’s season scoring pace will offer little protection to a spread ticket.

About the Rams (2–2 SU, 2-2 ATS, 2-2 o/u)

Los Angeles rebounded from a 30–26 loss to Denver on Sept. 27 by beating Philadelphia 24–20 on Oct. 4. The Rams generated 423 total yards and 317 passing yards against the Eagles, with Kyren Williams supplying 80 rushing yards, 67 receiving yards and two rushing touchdowns. Puka Nacua had 125 receiving yards, while Byron Young recorded 2.5 sacks.

Stafford has thrown for 1,189 yards and six touchdowns through four starts, but he also has six interceptions. The yardage shows Los Angeles can move the ball; the turnovers give Buffalo a potential route to disrupting drives without needing to shut down every part of the offence.

Sean McVay also wants cleaner execution. On Oct. 8, the Rams head coach called the penalties “a little bit too many for my liking, without a doubt” and highlighted “some of the things before the snap, or even just some judgment calls.” Avoidable mistakes could make it harder for Los Angeles to build the margin needed to cover -3.5.

Betting Mismatch

The central contrast is Buffalo’s higher scoring output against Los Angeles’ lower points allowed. The Bills have scored 127 points and conceded 107 through four games; the Rams have scored 85 and allowed 83. Those early totals are not adjusted for opponent strength, so neither side of that comparison is enough to settle the wager.

Both quarterbacks expect difficult reads. Stafford described Buffalo on Oct. 8 as having a “really physical, disruptive front and a back end that does a lot of different things.” Allen said the Rams “present a lot of different challenges, a lot of different looks, pressure from kind of all over.”

For the Bills +3.5 lean, handling that pressure is crucial. Buffalo needs sustained possessions rather than repeated obvious passing downs; Los Angeles can blunt the case for taking the points by keeping Allen uncomfortable and avoiding Stafford’s turnover mistakes.

Key Injuries

Buffalo receiver D.J. Moore is questionable with a shoulder injury. His availability could affect Allen’s receiving options, but the designation does not rule him out.

Los Angeles receiver Konata Mumpfield and tight end Colby Parkinson are also questionable with shoulder injuries. Tight end Terrance Ferguson is out with an ankle injury, and running back Ronnie Rivers is out with a calf injury, reducing the Rams’ available depth at those positions.

On Oct. 5, McVay said cornerback Jaylen Watson could return against Buffalo “if this week of practice goes well” after missing the Eagles game with a dislocated shoulder. McVay also expressed hope that Aaron Donald would return after missing that game with back soreness. Those were conditional return outlooks, not confirmed availability for Monday night.

Weather

The preliminary game-time outlook calls for partly cloudy skies, a temperature around 19°C, winds near 10 km/h and a 6% chance of precipitation. Those conditions do not give us a reason to favour either side or adjust the total.

  • The Rams have won seven of their last regular-season home games.
  • The under is 6-2 in the Rams’ past eight home games.
  • The Rams have hit the team total over in 16 of their past 21 games.
  • Josh Allen anytime touchdown -120: Seven rushing touchdowns and 118 rushing yards through four games make his scoring involvement worth considering. That touchdown pace is not something to assume will continue, so this remains a secondary angle rather than a firm recommendation.
  • Kyren Williams anytime touchdown -190: Williams has three rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown through four games, alongside 294 rushing yards and 21 catches for 173 yards on 25 targets. He has routes to scoring on the ground or through the air, but a busy workload can still end without a touchdown.
  • Dalton Kincaid over 60 receiving yards +130: His 15 catches for 270 yards and one touchdown on 19 targets through four games show the upside. The counterpoint is his production from Sept. 21 through Oct. 4: just three catches for 45 yards on five targets. That recent involvement makes a receiving-yards over difficult to favour without a suitably low threshold.
