Army Navy Point Spread

Depending on how both teams are running, the Army vs Navy point spread can run the gauntlet from EVEN to upwards of three touchdowns. Army Navy Picks & Predictions 2019

NCAA 2019 US College Football betting odds have not been released yet. Once Spin Sports bookmakers lists their prices, on the Army vs Navy duel, we will preview the contest and post our picks and predictions.

Navy Midshipmen 2019 Season

Navy is reloading after losing several of their 2018 starters. That includes five of their top seven ground game producers. Moving veteran Malcolm Perry back to the quarterback position will help the running game as he has produced over 1,000 rush yards each of the last two seasons. Perry will not be asked to throw much as Navy attempted just 127 passes (54 were complete) last year.

Army Black Knights 2019 Season

Returning largely intact from 2018, Canuck 'Cappers can expect more of the same from Army this season. The Black Knights will run, run and then run some more. While the results are impressive, an NCAAF leading 20 yards per catch average, Army completed just 52 of 98 passes during the 2018 campaign. Expect the Black Knights to produce over 4,000 rushing yards again in 2019.

What Is Army vs Navy Football

Army vs Navy football fights receive a lot of attention from online sportsbooks and football bettors. That is due to it being the only game played during the two weeks between the NCAAF Conference Championship games and the College Bowl Game season. Navy owns a 60-52-7 series lead, plus the longest winning streak (14 games 2002-15) and the largest margin of victory, which was a 51-0 blanking of the Black Knights in 1973. Army aims for a fourth straight win.

Can Army or Navy Football Players Go Pro

Short-lived, lasting only one year, the US Defense Department changed then President Barack Obamas' 2016 policy that allowed military athletes to by-pass service requirements and jump straight to the NFL. While they can be recruited, and selected in the NFL Draft, Army and Navy players must put in at least two years of active service before they can join a professional football team.

Hosting 2018 Commander-in-Chief's trophy winning Army Black Knights, at the Whitehouse on May 6, 2019, US President Donald Trump said he is in favor of letting military academy players defer their service requirements to go pro. Whether he will be around long enough to persuade the Pentagon to change it back is yet to be seen. Online odds on Trump serving his full term, whether he will quit or be impeached, or get re-elected in 2020, are constantly evolving.

Part of broadcasting history, as innovators in many ways, Army vs Navy is telecast LIVE by one of the major USA television networks. NBC was first (1945) as their New York and Philadelphia affiliates broadcast the Black Knights 32-13 win over the Midshipmen. World War II had just ended, Red Barber was alone in the booth and US President Harry Truman was in the crowd.

Prior to guiding the Dallas Cowboys to Super Bowl VI and XII victories, 1963 NCAAF Heisman Trophy winner QB Roger Staubach led Navy during the most solemn yet inspirational match in the long Army vs Navy history.

Instant replay was first used in US sports telecasts during the Midshipmen's win vs the Black Knights on December 7, 1963, which was the 22nd anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day. The contest was pushed back one week following the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy. Star QB Roger Staubach, distraught as any football player we have seen, guided Navy to a 21-15 victory.

Still four years before the first Super Bowl in 1967 - the Black Knights vs Midshipmen battle was the biggest football match of the era. In the words of replay inventor Tony Verna; this is the biggest game, and if you fool with the Army vs Navy game, and you mess that up, that was the end of your career. Verna gambled and won - You can as well by betting Army vs Navy online!
