The Toronto Blue Jays head to Fenway Park looking to build on Thursday’s much-needed victory over the Tampa Bay Rays, while the Boston Red Sox aim to bounce back after seeing their 15-game winning streak come to an end earlier this week. With both AL East rivals fighting for playoff positioning ahead of the trade deadline, Friday’s series opener carries added importance. Our Blue Jays vs. Red Sox prediction breaks down the best bets, odds, and player props for July 24, including a plus-money same-game parlay built around a low-scoring pitching duel.

Two-leg parlay – Blue Jays moneyline & under 8.5 runs: +300 best odds @ BET99
Blue Jays moneyline & under 8.5 runs
The Blue Jays have a massive edge in this starting pitching matchup with Yesavage taking the hill, but Sandoval should also have some success against a Toronto team struggling at the plate right now, particularly against southpaws. We should be in store for a tight, low-scoring game, as both of these starters should pitch relatively deep into the contest before making way for fresh bullpens.
Toronto is 5-1 versus the Red Sox this year, and all three of the previous matchups at Fenway Park played under their respective game totals. Coming off a win Thursday afternoon, the Blue Jays should have some momentum, as well as a major sense or urgency to pile up some wins this weekend in Boston ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline.
Boston, meanwhile, is coming off the high of a lengthy winning streak and is in a classic letdown spot on Friday when it returns to Fenway Park, where the team is just 23-28 this season.
Combine the Blue Jays moneyline at +110 odds with the under 8.5 game total at +100 into a two-leg parlay for a potential +300 payout, or simply play those angles as single wagers.

Betting the Blue Jays (47-56 SU, 47-56 ATS, 54-48-1 o/u)
The Blue Jays scraped out an ugly 3-1 win Thursday to salvage the final game of their four-game series with the Rays and snap a four-game slide overall.
Toronto is still having massive offensive struggles, though, scoring just nine runs total over its last six games. Scoring consistently has been a major issue for the Blue Jays all season long, as the team is averaging an MLB-worst 3.93 runs per game.
Boston will have a rest advantage in this matchup, but Toronto’s bullpen is in good shape after Tyler Rogers threw just nine pitches and Louis Varland 15 after Shane Bieber tossed seven strong innings in Thursday’s victory over the Rays.
Betting the Red Sox (52-49 SU, 50-50 ATS, 44-54-2 o/u)
There’s no hotter team in baseball than the Red Sox right now.
Boston had rattled off 15 straight wins before falling to the Baltimore Orioles in the second half of Wednesday’s doubleheader. It was the team’s first loss since a 10-2 setback to the Nationals at Fenway Park on July 1.
The win streak matched Boston’s 1946 team that won 15 straight, led by Ted Williams, and the streak was the longest in the majors since St. Louis also won 15 straight back in 2021.
More importantly, the ridiculous hot streak has revived Boston’s season and catapulted it back into a Wild Card spot in the AL. FanGraphs is now giving the Red Sox a 61% chance of making the playoffs entering this series with Toronto, likely completely changing the mindset of the team’s front office from sellers to buyers ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline.
Probable starting pitchers
Toronto: RHP Trey Yesavage (4-5, 3.78 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 8.67 K/9)
Yesavage has been one of Toronto’s best starting pitchers this season when he’s able to control his invaluable split-finger pitch. His 12.2% walk rate ranks him in just the 12th percentile, but when he’s finding the strike zone, he’s been one of the best pitchers in the AL.
The right-hander owns a very impressive 3.34 xERA with a .197 xBA, and opponents are barreling him up just 5.6% of the time (82nd percentile).
This will be Yesavage’s third start against the Red Sox this season. He threw 7 1/3 innings of three-run ball while striking out six batters on June 18 at Fenway Park and held Boston scoreless over 5 1/3 innings with three strikeouts back on April 28 at Rogers Centre.
Boston’s current roster is only slashing .121/.121/.273 with a .394 OPS in 33 combined at-bats against Yesavage.
Boston: LHP Patrick Sandoval (0-0, 4.82 ERA, 1.71 WHIP, 9.64 K/9)
Sandoval will be making just his third start for the Red Sox since returning from major elbow surgery. He got up to 76 pitches in his last start against the Rays, who hammered him for five runs on nine hits over five innings. Sandoval was much better in his first start of the year, holding the White Sox to one run on five hits over 4 1/3 innings.
Don’t expect the Red Sox to push him beyond 90 pitches in this outing, especially considering the team had a day off on Thursday and the bullpen will be fresh as a result.
It should be noted that the Blue Jays have struggled against left-handed pitching this season, slashing a combined .215/.292/.350 with a .642 OPS. Only the Seattle Mariners have a lower team OPS against southpaws (.635) this season.
