Blue Jays Drastically Shorten ALDS & World Series Odds After Taking 2-0 Lead Over Yankees

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (27) celebrates after hitting a grand slam in the fourth inning against the New York Yankees during game two of the ALDS round for the 2025 MLB playoffs at Rogers Centre.

The Toronto Blue Jays have drastically shortened their World Series and American League Division Series futures odds after taking a surprising 2-0 series lead over the New York Yankees.

Toronto is now -588 (Sports Interaction) to win its best-of-five ALDS series with New York and owns the second-shortest World Series odds at +325 behind the Los Angeles Dodgers (+240). It had around +130 odds to win the ALDS and +600 odds to win the World Series prior to the first pitch in the series being thrown.

Back in March during spring training, BetMGM had the Blue Jays at +6000 to win the World Series and +2500 to win the AL pennant.

The Yankees, meanwhile, are now a long +425 to stage a comeback and win the ALDS and +1500 to win the World Series.

BetMGM is reporting as of Monday morning that 57% of tickets and 34% of the handle are on the Blue Jays at the sportsbook to win the ALDS.

The Blue Jays have slugged their way to an unlikely 2-0 series lead by putting up a whopping 23 runs through the first two games, with the scene set to shift to The Bronx on Tuesday for Game 3. Both of the previous games in this series soared over their game totals of 7.5 and 8, respectively.

Toronto is projected to send right-hander Shane Bieber (4-2, 3.57 ERA) to the mound in Game 3 to battle southpaw Carlos Rodon (18-9, 3.09 ERA). Most online sportsbooks have the Blue Jays as slight Game 3 underdogs (around +125) on the moneyline with a 7.5-run total.
