Methodology and Sources
Total Cost for a Family of Four
This analysis benchmarks the cost of attending an NHL game for a family of four across all 32 arenas. The package includes:
- Four general admission tickets
- Two beers
- Two soft drinks
- Four hot dogs
- One parking spot
Ticket pricing was collected from Ticketmaster, with statistical outliers removed before calculating team-level averages. The underlying workbook reports more than 180,000 individual ticket prices. Canadian Ticketmaster listings were converted using the exchange-rate treatment recorded in the dataset before the final arena totals were produced.
Parking was sourced from Vivid Seats. The analysis covers more than 36,000 parking listings across 1,334 home-game parking products, with per-team outlier handling and an average representative parking fee calculated across the season.
Beer, soft-drink and hot-dog costs use the historical concession baseline in the source workbook and apply a 3.36% inflation adjustment to estimate 2026 pricing. Child admission policies were cross-referenced and verified against arena or team sources; they are shown as supporting information and do not alter the family-of-four package total.
Ticket prices can vary by opponent, seat location and day of week. Parking and concession costs can also change by event, and premium concession options are not included.
