UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs Rodriguez

After Conor McGregor returns to the ring at UFC 264 we head to the UFC APEX Arena in Las Vegas for a Saturday Fight Night on July 17th, as Max “The Blessed” Holloway returns to the octagon.

As one of the sports’ real fan favourites, we expect to see Max Holloway put another show on for UFC fans. He’ll face a tough opponent in the form of the Mexican Yair Rodriguez, who will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the new flyweight champion Brandon Moreno, who becomes the first Mexican UFC champion.

The UFC betting odds are available for some of the fights, but not all. We’ll keep this page updated, so be sure to check back for the latest from top-tier bookmakers at the best UFC betting sites.

Max Holloway (1.22) vs Yair Rodriguez (4.20)

Max Holloway holds a UFC record of 22-6 and looks like one of the best fighters at featherweight right now. He’s got elite-level striking, notably, his boxing, as well as Gracie trained world-class jiu-jitsu.

Back-to-back losses to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 245 & UFC 251 really set Holloway back. But, he’s been unphased by the losses and looks enthused to show that he deserves a third shot at the title, which we expect to show up on the UFC schedule sometime soon if he gets the win here.

Yair Rodriguez has a professional fighting record of 13-2, having not lost since 2017. Rodriguez has taken a long hiatus from the octagon, having not stepped into the ring since 2019. We expect the ring rust to hold him back against a fierce Holloway.

Alan Baudot (3.60) vs Rodrigo Nascimento (1.28)

The Frenchman Alan Baudot will step into the octagon to bounce back from his last UFC fight, which took place at the end of 2020, from a loss to Tom Aspinall. He starts out as the clear underdog but is a proven fighter with a record of 8-2.

It’s the Brazilian Nascimento who will fancy himself in Vegas. His record looked very good before a loss to Chris Daukaus at UFC 179, having won all his previous fights stretching all the way back to 2012.

Nascimento holds a record of 8-1 and boasts excellent knockout power, as well as a complete ground game. It will be a tough fight for Baudot, expect the Brazilian to show his class.

Islam Makhachev vs Thiago Moises

Islam Makhachev is one of the fighters that is lighting up the UFC, he’s really become one to watch among the emerging fighters in the sport. As part of the same crew, Khabib is from, he’s a complete fighter with lethal grappling and striking.

He holds a record of 19-1, which he’ll defend against the Brazilian Thiago Moises. Moises, the younger fighter, holds a record of 15-4 and goes into this one having won his last 3 consecutive bouts.

Islam holds a much better record in recent fights, but this will be his toughest fight for a while. Moises possesses an excellent ground game, so this is where things could be unstuck for Makhachev. Although, we expect him to take the win on the night.
