Israel Adesanya (1.36) vs Marvin Vettori (3.10)
Izzy had a very disappointing result against Jan Blachowicz in his last bout, losing his shot at the title via decision. He just didn’t seem to have the power to put the big man down.
He will face another big man in this one in the form of “The Italian Dream” Vettori, who has won his last 5 consecutive bouts. He is a tough opponent and possesses excellent knockout power in his striking.
Izzy, like Jon Jones before him, is the master at distancing. He will need to do this against Vettori and ensure he doesn’t get close enough to do damage. Expect to see the kind of Adesanya we did against Paulo Costa.
While this one may go the distance, we do think that Adesanya will have the tools to pick up points in every round. The loss against Jan was tough to take, but he’ll bounce back at UFC 263.
To beat Marvin Vettori
Deivison Figueiredo (1.40) vs Brandon Moreno (2.90)
Figueiredo has 5 wins in his last 6 fights, with a draw against this very opponent Brandon Moreno in his last bout. The fight went to the judge’s scorecard, with many pundits making a case that the fight could have gone either way.
Deivison Figueiredo is one of the best in the game, he has a deadly ground game and an electric speed of striking. However, that’s much the same for Moreno, who has shown to be a very capable challenger.
While we imagine this fight may go similarly to the first bout, we think the Champion will go in and look to end this fight before it goes to a decision. Expect a more aggressive fight from Figueiredo this time around.
To beat Brandon Moreno
Nate Diaz (4.50) vs Leon Edwards (1.20)
Nate Diaz is truly one of the most popular fighters in the UFC, the Diaz brothers always draw a big crowd and know how to play up to the audience. Some of the “realest” competitors out there, showing what the sport is really about.
Diaz lost out to Jorge Masvidal in crushing fashion last time. He won’t be shaken by this and will come back the same fighter as he always does.
Leon Edwards has won 8 of his last 9 fights and goes into this one the clear favourite. He is keen for a title shot and with a win here, he’ll be closer to it.
Edwards possesses an excellent striking game, but if he doesn’t manage to put Diaz down, it’ll be very tough. Expect Nate to ensure the striking and come back with a submission win.
To beat Leon Edwards
