- Giants +9.5
- Packers +3.5
- Raiders +4.5
Giants +9.5
Coming off a failed second-half comeback against the New Orleans Saints, look for the New York Giants to keep the game within striking distance as they head south to the Lone Star State to take on the Houston Texans.
With lacklustre play from Jameis Winston, coupled with a disciplined and ruthless Harbaugh regime that saw several key Giants players benched or limited in Week 6, it would appear that J.J. McCarthy will be primed to secure the starting spot for the G-Men in Week 7. In 21 attempts, McCarthy completed 11 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown, all coming in the fourth quarter.
As the former first round pick appears ready to make a statement in his new home, the Giants have plenty of talent that will allow them to go toe-to-toe with the Texans.
After stealing a win in the United Kingdom, the Texans have struggled to find consistency in their play this season. Sporting a poor 2-4 record against the spread (ATS), including going 0-3 at home and 1-3 as favourites, the Texans certainly haven’t shown themselves to be trustworthy enough to cover a +9.5 spread.
Bank on the Giants to stay in the game through all four quarters, put the Texans on the ropes, and cover the spread as the biggest opening underdogs in Week 7, continuing to be one of the NFL’s best teams against the spread.
Packers +3.5
Set for a pivotal clash in the NFC North, bank on the Green Bay Packers to pad their lead in the division over the Detroit Lions from Ford Field.
Coming off a sensational display on Sunday Night Football over the Dallas Cowboys, the Packers have weathered the storm of early adversity this season and have begun to find their game as a lethal passing offence, bolstered by one of the league’s top defensive groups. Taking on a Lions team that sports the worst defence in the NFL in terms of opposing expected points added (EPA) per play, the Packers are equipped to torch them on that side of the field, while also limiting their high-scoring offence from their typical production.
Additionally, over their last three games played on the road against the Lions, the Packers have taken the win twice, showing no signs of fear or discomfort when entering a hostile environment.
Sporting a bottom-five record ATS in the NFL through the first six weeks of the 2026 season, expect the Packers to continue hurting the oddsmakers’ pockets, upsetting the Lions in their first meeting of the year, and covering the spread in the process.
Raiders +4.5
Rounding out our best NFL Week 7 underdog picks, bank on the Las Vegas Raiders to get back into the win column as they take on a banged up Los Angeles Rams team.
After falling narrowly at home against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6, the Raiders have suffered two of their three losses against top AFC squads by a single score. Having proven themselves as legitimate playoff contenders possessing tremendous upside, they’re on the polar opposite side of the spectrum compared to the Rams.
Starring down the barrel of a 2-4 record, the opening favourite to win the Super Bowl this season has been a complete letdown. After losing their Week 6 clash against the Arizona Cardinals, a game in which they were massive favourites, the Rams also lost top playmaker Davante Adams due to a ruptured left hamstring tendon.
As the Rams enter Week 7 with a porous 2-4 ATS record, taking on the best-covering team in football this season, the writing is on the wall for how this interconference clash will play out. Hammer the Raiders to cover the spread as they look to send the Rams into a downward spiral, upsetting them on the road and making their ascent back into postseason contention as the Rams officially enter panic mode.
