Most Important Game on the Schedule: Kicking off the season with a statement-making matchup, the Houston Texans will play host to the opening favourites to win the AFC in 2026, the Buffalo Bills. In a collision course between two squads that have made deep playoff runs in recent years and have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations this season, this early meeting between conference top dogs will set the tone for their upcoming campaign.
Prop to Watch: Hot off the heels of a first-team All-Pro season, expect another dominant year for Texans pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. One of the top athletes in the NFL, Anderson is borderline unstoppable once he explodes off the edge. With no tackle in the NFL able to handle his combination of raw power and speed, expect Anderson to rack up Over 12.5 sacks in the 2026 season. Having finished the 2025 season with 12 total sacks, look for him to set a new career-high in his fourth NFL season, terrorizing quarterbacks all year long and further cementing himself as a top defender in the sport.
Potential Breakout Player: With the Texans wide receiver room in shambles as several depth receivers have gone down due to injury, look for second-year wideout Jaylin Noel to be thrust into an important role within the team’s offence and capitalize on his newfound role. In his rookie year, Noel was solid, but didn’t make much noise. Finishing the year with 296 receiving yards and two touchdowns, Noel played in all 17 games during the regular season but was never truly utilized. Now, with the Texans passing attack desperately needing a boost, look for him and fellow Iowa State alum Xavier Hutchinson to contribute career-best seasons in order to produce big plays downfield, and draw attention away from star receiver Nico Collins.
Betting Projection: After missing out on their chance to threepeat as division champions in 2025, look for the Texans to get back on top of the AFC South, winning the division title in 2026. Possessing one of the best defences in the NFL, as well as an explosive offence, look for the Texans to take advantage of their weak division, continue their rapid development, and secure Over 9.5 wins en route to their third division title in the C.J. Stroud era.

Facing the favourite to win the AFC South, the Colts will aim to assert their dominance in their first taste of divisional play, setting the stage for what’s to come in their 2026 campaign.
Prop to Watch: One of the most explosive running back talents in all of football, expect another stellar season from Jonathan Taylor as he amasses Over 1249.5 rushing yards in 2026. Coming off his third season in which he’s tallied Over 1249.5 rushing yards, Taylor has proven himself to be an unstoppable force when he gets a head full of steam. A beautiful blend of speed and strength, Taylor is a well-rounded back that’s featured heavily in the Colts game plan. With all indications pointing toward another bellcow season for JT, expect him to have no trouble piling up Over 1249.5 rushing yards this season.
Potential Breakout Player: After securing the bag from the Colts in the form of a four-year, $114M contract this offseason, expect plenty of attention to be paid to wide receiver Alec Pierce this season. Coming off his first 1,000-yard season in 2025, Pierce has shown his terrific downfield ability, able to burn defensive backs and come down with jump-ball opportunities in the red zone. Needing to live up to his hefty contract, look for Pierce to become a primary piece of the Colts offence, receiving career-highs in targets, and generating big gains through the deep ball throughout the 2026 season.
Betting Projection: I expect the Colts to be competitive this season, but I don’t foresee them making the postseason. While they made solid roster additions this offseason, I still feel they lack the dynamism in their passing attack to truly compete at an elite level. With the AFC chock-full of Super Bowl-contending squads, look for the Colts to wilt under the pressure when facing top teams in the Conference, finishing around the .500 mark, but ultimately coming up short of the 2026 NFL Playoffs.

Prop to Watch: Having built a career on his cannon of an arm, look for Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence to once again put up impressive passing stats as he throws for 4,000+ passing yards in 2026. Entering his sixth NFL season, Lawrence is no stranger to the 4,000-yard club, having reached this milestone in three of his last four seasons, with the lone blip coming from a 2024 campaign that saw him play only 10 games. If Lawrence can remain on the field, expect him to sleepwalk his way into big passing performances, finishing the year with 4,000+ passing yards for a juicy plus money payout to savvy bettors.
Potential Breakout Player: After losing longtime running back Travis Etienne to the New Orleans Saints this offseason, expect a breakout season for Bhayshul Tuten in 2026. After being kept limited in snaps during his rookie season, Tuten has already shown signs of tremendous upside in the pros. In his rookie campaign, the fourth-round pick finished with 386 total scrimmage yards on 93 touches, while also hitting pay dirt seven times. Now, with the keys to the backfield firmly in his grasp, expect Tuten to make a name for himself in 2026, doubling his season output from a year ago, and earning his spot as RB1 with the Jags this season.
Betting Projection: Simply put, this Jaguars team doesn’t move me. One of the most hot-and-cold rosters in football, there are simply too many unknowns involved with the Jaguars this season to confidently back them to find success. With inconsistent play from Trevor Lawrence, a subpar defence outside of their defensive line, and reliance on unproven skill players to make big plays throughout the season, fade the Jags in 2026, taking the Under on their total wins as well as on them to miss the NFL Playoffs.

A team that showed rapid development last season thanks to their young duo of Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo, the Titans will aim to best the G-Men on the road, proving that their young talent is superior, and that they’re on track to compete in the near future.
Prop to Watch: It was a disappointing rookie season for the 2025 first overall pick, but set to bounce back in a big way in his second season in the NFL, bank on Titans quarterback Cam Ward to toss Over 19.5 passing touchdowns this season at +100. Finishing his rookie season with just 15 touchdown passes in 17 games played, this low output was more to do with the horrid offensive line in front of him, as well as lacklustre production from skill players. Now, with a revitalized lineup with plenty of upside, we may get to see the true potential of this highly-touted prospect as he throws for Over 19.5 touchdown balls this season.
Potential Breakout Player: One of the top contenders for Offensive Rookie of the Year, expect this year to be a coming-out party for the duo of Cam Ward and rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate. Selected fourth overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, Tate dazzled in his junior year at Ohio State, finishing with 875 receiving yards and nine touchdowns through the air, showcasing elite deep ball play while sporting an NFL-ready frame. With the Titans desperately needing a playmaker to pair with their franchise QB, this could be the beginning of a dangerous pairing in Music City as Tate emerges as a wide receiver to watch for years to come.
Betting Projection: Moving in the right direction, the Titans have made great moves to upgrade their roster this offseason and prepare for the future. However, the future is still a long way off, and right now, the Titans still stink. Sporting a weak roster top-to-bottom, there are several weak points in their lineup that will result in lopsided defeats on a weekly basis. Fade the Titans at every point as they finish near the bottom of the regular season standings, potentially finishing with the worst record in the league.
