Motivated to defend their Super Bowl title, the Philadelphia Eagles are back and better than ever as they look to secure the first back-to-back Super Bowl victories in franchise history.

Hoping their fans are finally right in saying this is their year, the Dallas Cowboys are once again on their quest to capture the Lombardi Trophy. In other words, business as usual.

The Cinderella team of 2024, the Washington Commanders are back and ready to build off of their stellar season last year as they hope to once again make a deep run in the NFL Playoffs this season.

Most Important Game on the Schedule: Set to prove last year’s dominant Super Bowl victory was no fluke, in Week 2, we will be treated to a rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. One of the top contenders in the AFC, this will be an early clash with another top-tier squad that will give bettors a great sense as to how this year’s Eagles squad stacks up to last season. Emotions are sure to run rampant in this high-stakes rematch as both squads will be hungry to score a win in this grudge match.

Prop to Watch: Set to continue eating up yardage on the ground, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is yet another great bet to lead the NFL in rushing yards. Behind one of the best offensive lines in the league, the Eagles rely on the run game for the bulk of their offence. With their ability to control the game at the line of scrimmage, Barkley has experienced nothing but success with the Birds as he racked up 2,005 rushing yards in 2024. With no signs of slowing down, look for Barkley to notch back-to-back rushing yard crowns in 2025.

Potential Breakout Player: Entering his third NFL season, expect big things to come for London, Ontario’s own, Sydney Brown. Set to be the Eagles’ starting strong safety, this will be the former Fighting Illini’s first crack at showcasing his ability in a pivotal role. With his twin brother Chase already having carved out his spot as a top performer as a running back with the Cincinnati Bengals, Sydney is set to follow suit. A phenomenal athlete that has no trouble laying the boom over the top of coverage, look for a breakout season for Brown and the Eagles in 2025.

Betting Projection: There are no signs of slowing down for the defending Super Bowl champions heading into the 2025 NFL season. Having brought back the bulk of their championship-winning core, the Eagles are set to be just as good, if not better than last year. With one of the most dangerous and versatile offences, coupled with a stellar defensive squad, the Eagles are built for a deep postseason run from top to bottom. With one Lombardi Trophy already captured, the Eagles are my pick to win the NFC this season, punching their ticket back to the Super Bowl in back-to-back years.

Key Subtractions: EDGE Demarcus Lawrence, WR Brandin Cooks, RB Rico Dowdle, QB Cooper Rush, CB Jourdain Lewis

Most Important Game on the Schedule: In a matchup that could dictate the team’s 2025 playoff chances, the Dallas Cowboys will play host to the Washington Commanders in Week 7. Not just some mid-season clash, this is set to be a crucial divisional tilt for both sides. The Cowboys are likely to be hovering around the .500 mark at this point in the season, and divisional matchups can genuinely make or break your season. With the Cowboys and Commanders set to be jockeying for the second-place spot in the NFC East, this will go a long way in deciding the outcome of both teams’ campaigns.

Props to Watch: Set to smash his previous career bests, look for newly acquired wide receiver George Pickens to make an immediate impact with the Cowboys as he racks up Over 900.5 receiving yards this season. Having tallied 900 yards in 14 games played in 2024 and 1,140 the year prior, Pickens managed to pile up yardage amidst poor quarterback play in one of the league’s worst passing offences with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now in an ideal scenario as a part of one of the league’s most notable passing offences, look for Pickens to get plenty of targets as teams hone in on All-Pro wideout CeeDee Lamb, leaving him with an abundance of opportunities to connect with QB Dak Prescott on a game-to-game basis.

Potential Breakout Player: With the departure of edge-rusher Demarcus Lawrence and the ongoing contract disputes between Micah Parsons and the Cowboys front office, this has opened the door for former second-round pick Marshawn Kneeland to have a breakout season. In his rookie campaign with the Cowboys, we didn’t see much from the Western Michigan product, as he only contributed 14 total tackles in 11 games played. With a terrific combination of size and speed, Kneeland could be a great quasi Parsons fill-in for the Cowboys defensive front in 2025 is a resolution can’t be reached between the star pass-rushed and Jerry Jones.

Betting Projection: The Cowboys’ 2025 season hangs in the balance depending on how the ongoing contract dispute between Jerry Jones and Micah Parsons is resolved. If Parsons is brought back and paid the number he deserves, the Cowboys defence will be among the league’s best. With a standout defence to complement a stacked offence with the return of Dak Prescott to the lineup, the Cowboys could be set for one of their best finishes in years. Without Parsons, I actually still like their odds to make the postseason, although it will be by the skin of their teeth, with their win total likely dropping by 2-3 games. Take the over on the Cowboys win total and expect a bounce-back season from the Cowboys in 2025.

Key Subtractions: DL Jonathan Allen, S Jeremy Chinn, EDGE Dante Fowler Jr., CB Benjamin St. Juiste, WR Olamide Zaccheaus

Most Important Game on the Schedule: Set for a rematch from the 2024 NFL Playoffs, the Washington Commanders will need to bring their best as they take on the Detroit Lions in Week 10. After spoiling the Lions’ dominant 2024 campaign with their upset victory, the Commanders have a massive target on their back heading into this clash. With the Lions set to once again be among the best of the best in the NFC, you can bet your bottom dollar that this tilt is going to be for more than just a win on the season standings, it’s going to be personal. Expect plenty of fireworks in the Lions vs. Commanders Week 10 clash as they look to cement themselves as a playoff contender against a juggernaut Lions team.

Props to Watch: It may be just his second season in the NFL, but Jayden Daniels should already be heavily considered when it comes to betting on the 2025 NFL MVP. After amassing 31 total touchdowns in his rookie campaign, Daniels is primed to continue building upon these already impressive numbers. As the Commanders project to be one of the best squads in the NFC, look for the dual-threat QB to be a major part of this, playing his way to his first MVP award, adding it to his mantle along with the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Potential Breakout Player: After stringing together three solid seasons to begin his NFL career, look for Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. to finally separate himself from the rest of the rushers on the depth chart as he has his first 1,000-yard rushing season and breaks out for his squad. Having shown glimpses of incredible potential, able to handle tough running in the trenches, as well as stretching out in the passing game as an elusive back, Robinson Jr. is on the brink of exploding in production. Coupled with the exceptional play of Jayden Daniels, look for this backfield duo to put together a sensational 2025 season together.

Betting Projection: After being the biggest surprise of the NFL season in 2024, look for the Commanders to continue their winning ways as they punch their ticket into the NFL Playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1990-92. Having made fantastic upgrades on both sides of the ball, such as grabbing veterans Deebo Samuel, Laremy Tunsil, and Von Miller, the Commanders are set to be even better than a season ago. Hammer the Commanders to make the playoffs and to earn over 9.5 wins in 2025.

Key Subtractions: LB Isaiah Simmons, CB Adoree’ Jackson, S Jason Pinnock, QB Daniel Jones, QB Drew Lock

Most Important Game on the Schedule: Coming right out of the gates, the most important game on the New York Giants schedule comes in Week 1 as they take on the Commanders from Northwest Stadium. With plenty of moving pieces throughout the Giants lineup, this will be a major test to see what type of mettle the G-Men have this year. In need of some hint of success after several downright rotten seasons, the Giants will look to start the 2025 campaign off with a bang against a division rival.

Props to Watch: After finishing his rookie season with seven touchdown grabs, look for budding star Malik Nabers to best this total as he records over 7.5 touchdowns in 2025. One of the lone bright spots of a putrid Giants season in 2024, Nabers quickly established himself as a talent to watch in the NFL. While seven touchdowns may not jump out at you, when you consider he had a mixture of Daniel Jones, Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito throwing him the ball, this is actually a ridiculous feat. With Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston now in the QB room, look for Nabers’ output to explode in 2025 as he has no trouble connecting in the end zone on a weekly basis.

Potential Breakout Player: His rookie campaign may have been a disappointment, but don’t sell your stock in Giants tight end Theo Johnson just yet. After barely receiving a whiff of the pigskin in 2024, it’s safe to assume that Johnson could see an uptick in offensive involvement now that some reliable playmakers have been added to the roster. A former fourth-round pick, Johnson carved out a solid collegiate career, hauling in seven touchdown grabs and 341 receiving yards in his senior season at Penn State. Look for the big-bodied tight end to finally get some touches, breaking out as the tight end threat of the future for the G-Men.

Betting Projection: In all honesty, I feel bad for the Giants this season. After making smart moves in the offseason and upgrading at key positions, they are still going to struggle to produce wins in 2025. Slated with the hardest strength of schedule across the NFL, the Giants are in the unfortunate position of being the worst team in one of the best divisions in football. With six games of the season likely already chalked up as a loss, this leaves little to no room for error, something this squad can’t afford. Fade the Giants to once again miss the NFL Playoffs and finish with under 5.5 wins, but don’t feel too bad Giants fans, bright thing are in store for you… just not this year.
