Game 1 is set for Thursday
On Thursday evening, the two teams will face off in what's expected to be one heck of a battle. For the Cardinals, they'll send Miles Mikolas to the bump and the Braves will go with veteran lefty Dallas Keuchel.
Mikolas has posted a 4.16 ERA this year. As for Keuchel, he holds a 3.75 ERA. The two struggled a bit in the win-loss department, though. Mikolas went 9-14 this year, while Keuchel went 8-8.
Entering this one, Atlanta holds the home-field advantage, as Game 1 will be played at SunTrust Park.
While this one should be close, we'll give the Braves and manager Brian Snitker the advantage.
Jack Flaherty will be ready to quiet Atlanta for Game 2
It came as a major shock the Cardinals decided to go with Miles Mikolas as the starter for Game 1. Why? Because Jack Flaherty has been one of the best pitchers in the bigs after the All-Star break.
Well, the righty will get his shot to impress on Friday, as he's expected to get the nod for Game 2. This is not good news for the Braves.
In the second half of the season, Flaherty went 7-2 with a 0.91 ERA in 15 starts. Those are wild numbers.
Because of this, we'll give St. Louis the edge to even up the series on Friday.

Game 3 will head to Busch Stadium on Sunday
If the Cardinals are able to steal a game from the Braves at SunTrust Park, it will put them in the driver's seat for the rest of the series.
Nothing would be bigger than to have the home-field advantage shift back in their direction. On Sunday for Game 3, the Cards Adam Wainweight gets the call. Canadian stud Mike Soroka heads to the hill for the Braves.
After he went 13-4 with a 2.68 ERA in his first full season - Soroka gets his first taste of MLB playoff action. Will he be able to take down St. Louis on Sunday? We think so.
Who will end up winning the series?
These two teams are quite evenly matched up, there's no denying that. While the Braves have the young talent, like Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies and others, the St. Louis rotation is nothing to sneeze at.
So, who's favored to win the series and advance to the next round? Per Sports Interaction, the Braves hold 1.61 odds, while the Cards are at 2.30.
Do you think Atlanta will get the job done, or will the Cards pull off the upset? Place your bet in today.
