In this article, Canada Sports Betting’s Nick Martin breaks down the two best NHL player prop picks that provide value at online sportsbooks today (4/7/26).
These player prop guides enter Tuesday’s slate up +8.27 units across 165 selections this season, after a marginal winning night on Monday. Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele combined for five points to cash our first pick, while Connor Bedard was unable to finish any of his five attempts on goal.
Tuesday’s 11-game slate features several highly compelling matchups, and I’m excited to outline my two favourite player props below.

Porter Martone Over 2.5 Shots on Goal: +150
Martone over 2.5 SOG
Thanks to two consecutive wins over the New York Islanders and Boston Bruins, the Philadelphia Flyers now control their own playoff destiny with just five games left to play. While the Flyers’ late-season surge has surely already sucked even the most casual fans back in, having 2025 sixth overall pick Porter Martone in the lineup and making an immediate impact offers another excellent storyline.
While Martone did record 50 points in 35 games with Michigan this season and was a very high selection, we’re not sure if too many observers expected he would immediately provide such a positive impact at the NHL level. Through four games, Martone has recorded three points and has not looked out of place playing in highly competitive playoff-type matchups.
Head coach Rick Tocchet has already afforded Martone 16:29 of average ice time, and he appears set to remain on the second line and top power-play unit in Tuesday’s critical matchup versus the New Jersey Devils.
Throughout his first four NHL games Martone has averaged five shots on goal per game and 7.5 shot attempts per game. Sample size is an issue and it is logical to conclude his shot volume will trend down to some extent. Still, considering the long price of +150 for Martone to record three shots or more in Tuesday’s matchup, we’re willing to buy into the idea that his volume will remain anywhere close to what it has been so far.
Philip Broberg Over 0.5 Points: +160
Broberg to record a point
The St. Louis Blues have played to a league-leading record of 13-3-3 since the Olympic break, and are still somewhat alive in the playoff chase as a result. Both Joel Hofer and Jordan Binnington have been in strong form, while the team’s top line of Robert Thomas, Dylan Holloway, and Jimmy Snuggerud has been spectacular.
The one positive development that likely hasn’t been getting enough credit has been the play of Philip Broberg, who has had a tremendous final quarter of the season and, as a result, has overtaken the role as quarterback of the top power play, and a spot on the top defensive pairing.
Over the past 10 games Broberg has put up eight points and has averaged 23:40 of time on ice. His ability to drive play offensively is well evidenced by a +8.8 expected goals above replacement rating (per Evolving Hockey), and leaning more into his strong puck-moving ability has helped power the Blues recent upswing.
The Colorado Avalanche are not a great matchup by any means, as they remain one of the league’s better defensive teams. Still, Broberg’s recent production looks sustainable considering his usage on a strong power play and the amount of minutes he is playing alongside the Blues’ red-hot top line.
At +160, there looks to be value in backing Broberg to record a point in Tuesday’s matchup.
