In this article, Canada Sports Betting’s Nick Martin breaks down the two best NHL player prop picks that provide value at online sportsbooks today (4/6/26).
These player prop guides enter Monday’s slate up +8.07 units across 163 selections this season, after an aggravating 0-2 night last Thursday. Our assist prop on Cole Hutson missed despite Hutson setting up a tap-in goal which was missed, before recording an assist the following night, while Brady Tkachuk had a quiet night on Thursday before authoring a dominant performance on Sunday.
All we can do is hope to continue following a strong process, as nothing is guaranteed in sports betting. Hopefully we can get things back on track with an appealing pair of selections Monday, from an interesting four-game card compiled of matchups holding plenty of playoff significance.

Josh Morrissey/Mark Scheifele 1+ Point Each: +120
Morrissey/Scheifele points parlay
The Winnipeg Jets have been among the NHL’s most flawed and top-heavy sides this season, and yet they still have an outside chance of earning the final playoff spot out West if they can collect nine or 10 more points, which is not entirely impossible given the upcoming schedule.
Monday’s matchup versus the struggling Seattle Kraken is an absolute must-have, and I’m counting on Morrissey and Scheifele to continue leading the way in a favourable spot on home ice.
Morrissey seemingly took a little time to get back into top form when he initially returned from injury but has been excellent of late with six points over the last seven games. In the same span Scheifele has recorded 11 points.
The Seattle Kraken are just 5-12-2 since the Olympic break and have allowed 3.68 goals against per game in that span. They hold an expected goal share of 44.69% in that span and have allowed 3.55 xGA/60.
Jets head coach Scott Arniel should be able to cherry pick some soft matchups to deploy five-man units involving Scheifele’s line and his top defensive pairing versus a Kraken side that is just 15-16-6 on the road this season.
Connor Bedard To Score: +165
Bedard to score
Macklin Celebrini will be a trendy pick in the prop market Monday as the San Jose Sharks take on the lowly Chicago Blackhawks, and by no means would I disagree with bettors taking that route. Bedard should be well-motivated to steal a little shine back from Celebrini in this matchup though, and is well-situated to do so versus a Sharks side that remains quite poor defensively.
Over the last 10 games the Sharks have allowed 3.80 goals against per game. Though they are well-motivated by stealing a playoff spot, the team still holds one of the weaker defensive corps in the NHL and a number of below-average skaters up front.
It’s been a quiet stretch for Bedard from a goal-scoring perspective, as he’s recorded only three goals over the last 10 games. However he’s averaged 5.6 shot attempts per game in that span and 3.2 shots on goal per game.
The Blackhawks have recently played against a schedule featuring a number of teams that have been in notably good form defensively, and this sets up as a good spot for Bedard to break through with his 31st of the year in just his 65th game. Considering the matchup, a price of +165 for Bedard to score looks quite appealing.
