
It’s playoff time in the NFL, and that means that winter weather is reaching its peak as the calendar flips to January.
Inclement weather, cold temperatures, and high winds can have varying impacts on the outcome of a football game, leading to an increase in turnovers, missed kicks, and errant throws. Online sportsbooks are also keeping an eye on these weather projections and adjust their betting lines accordingly.
Surprisingly, all six matchups on Wild Card Weekend will be played at outdoor venues, leaving the games susceptible to the wrath of Mother Nature.

- Rams vs. Panthers opened at over/under 46.5 points and that line has held throughout Wednesday morning despite the threat of rain on Saturday.
- Packers vs. Bears opened at over/under 46.5 points and that line has been bet down to 45.5 points as of Wednesday morning at most online sportsbooks.
- Bills vs. Jaguars opened at over/under 51.5 points and the line has risen to 52.5 as of Wednesday morning at most online shops.
- 49ers vs. Eagles opened at over/under 46.5 points and the total now sits at just 44.5 at most online sportsbooks.
- Chargers vs. Patriots opened at over/under 46.5 points and that line has held for the most part through Wednesday. Some books are now sitting at 46 points.
- Texans vs. Steelers opened at over/under 39.5 points and that line has mostly held through Wednesday. This game has by far the lowest total of the week.
