Two of the Premier League’s best will head to Wembley on Saturday 15th of May, with the game starting at 00:15 (EST). Chelsea goes into this one as the favorite, but Brendan Rogers has shown that his team is capable of beating the best in England.
The soccer betting odds favor Chelsea because they have been built a fresh-looking team under Thomas Tuchel, conceding only a handful of goals in the 20+ games he’s managed.
Chelsea is also in the top European league and one game away from the Champions League final. Leicester have more or less secured a top 4 spot in the league, meaning they’ll be in the Champions League next year, while Chelsea is still battling out for the fourth spot and may end up in the Europa League.
We have assessed the odds from all the top-tier sportsbook providers and will provide you with some of the best picks and insights regarding this years’ FA Cup Final. Let’s take a look at some picks for the big game.
Chelsea to win over 90 minutes
Chelsea has shown this season that they have one of the best defensive setups in the league. While Chelsea isn’t playing the most stylish football in the league, they simply are not conceding goals.
Brendan Rodger’s team has been more prolific of late, but they don’t possess a range of goalscorers that can threaten Tuchel’s Blues. Silva and Rudiger make up one of the strongest defensive partnerships in the league, so they won’t let much through.
In attack, Chelsea is starting to look more convincing. Big money summer signings, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, and Hakim Ziyech have started to link up properly. They will cause the Leicester defence a lot of problems.
Both score no draw
While the Chelsea defence is rock solid, it’s hard to count out the in-form Kelechi Iheanacho. The 24-year old Nigerian has 10 goals in 21 league games this season but has been netting a lot more across all competitions recently.
He was signed from Manchester City at the start of the season and struggled to find form. However, Rodgers has managed him well and he’s showing his best qualities now.
Chelsea has Werner, Pulisic, Giroud, Mount, and many others who will cause the Foxes problems. We don’t doubt that they’ll score and we back Iheanacho to find the back of the net.
Chelsea to win 3-1
For many of the reasons we’ve already mentioned, Chelsea will look to dominate the game from the beginning. They have Kante, Mount, and Jorginho controlling the midfield, then with pace on the wings, they are able to quickly counter when they make turnovers.
This will be deadly against Leicester, who plays with an ageing Johnny Evans at the back – a solid defender, but he doesn’t have the legs to compete with Chelsea’s pacey forwards.
Between Vardy, Maddison, and Ihenacho, we expect to see goals from the Leicester goalscorers. But, given the form Chelsea have been in since Tuchel took over, this will likely be his first piece of silverware to take home to the Bridge.
