This year we head to the Baltic coast of Poland, in the city of Gdansk on Wednesday the 26th of May, where the final will be played between the Premier League’s Manchester United and La Liga representative Villarreal.
The Europa League final odds always draw in a huge crowd of bettors, swarming to the biggest sportsbooks to wager a range of lines and markets. Manchester United started out as the favourites, but Villarreal was able to knock out United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal in the previous round.
The Europa League odds for an outright winner is often the most popular market, but there is a broad range of markets available to bettors, much the same as you’ll find for Champions League odds and lines.
We’ve assessed the odds and will make some Europa League betting picks for our readership. Soccer betting odds are mostly quite simple, but it’s more difficult to know which team will succeed. We’ll take a look at it all here in these picks. Stay tuned for more.
Manchester United to beat Villarreal (1.80)
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be disappointed with how the season has ended. They were leading the Premier League for a long period of time, but slipped up and allowed City to take control and ultimately win the league title.
Regardless, United is flying at the moment. If we can give some valuable Europa League final betting tips, they’d be back the reds and back them to win in style. Although they lost to Leicester midweek, they fielded a reserve team.
The likes of Pogba, Shaw, Cavani, Greenwood and Bruno have made United look like a completely different team throughout the 2020/21 season. There are no players of any great significance at Villarreal and 7th place in La Liga tells the story.
Manchester United to win and both teams to score (3.80)
Unai Emery has delivered once again in the Europa League and his team must not be underestimated. However, Ole’s United is an evolving team and one that has now begun to deliver week in week out.
Ole has taught his Red Devils how to win and there is a certain swagger and confidence about this team now. Pogba and Bruno will be pulling the strings in midfield and Cavani, Rashford, and Mason will be finding the net.
The issue United has had is their inability to defend. They leak goals and have done so throughout the season. It felt at one stage that those days were behind them, but the trend of seeing who can score more goals has returned—fortunately for Ole’s men, it’s them finding the net more than their opponents.
Manchester United to win 4-1 (34.00)
Edison Cavani is in fine form of late. He has become the father figure to the other young players, with Dan James, Mason Greenwood, even Marcus Rashford, who is more of a senior player these days. Ole regularly praises the importance of Cavani on the pitch, as well as in the dressing room.
As we touched on before, United has consistently leaked goals, especially of late. So, there’s slim to no chance that they will last the full 90 minutes without conceding, more so now that Harry Maguire may miss out on the final.
United will concede, but they will also score. They have been the kings of the comeback in 2021. Expect them to go 1-0, then turn it around and win the game with a flurry of goals.
