2026 Genesis Invitational Golf Odds & Picks

Max Homa plays a shot from a bunker on the first hole during the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open golf tournament at Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course - South Course.

The Genesis Invitational returns to Riviera Country Club this week, bringing one of the strongest non-major fields of the PGA Tour season to one of its most demanding layouts. Golf bettors face a classic test of patience and precision, with firm, fast fairways, small poa annua greens, and a finishing stretch that regularly reshuffles the leaderboard on Sunday.

In this article, we’ll break down the latest Genesis Invitational odds, highlight the favourites built for Riviera’s tight sightlines and tricky green complexes, and flag live long shots whose iron play and scrambling can translate into value.

From elite ball-strikers in peak form to course horses with strong Riviera history, you’ll get data-driven picks and betting angles to help you build your outright cards and placement bets for the week.

Genesis Invitational best bets

Best bet: Max Homa (+7500)

We’re looking for value in the field this week, and Homa boasts a ton of it. He’s finished T16 or better in each of his past five starts at Riviera Country Club, including a win in 2021.

So why’s he 75-1 to win this week? Well, its just his fourth event of the season and he’s finished no higher than T27 (American Express) in those events. But despite his mediocre current form, a trip to Riviera, a course he’s had a ton of success at, could ignite his season and set the precedent for the rest of his season.

Remember, Homa had a strong finish to his 2025 season, posting three top-20 results over his final four events. You can bet he’s hungry to return to elite form in 2026, and it could all start this week at Riviera.

Best long shot bet: Tony Finau (+9000)

We identified Finau as our dark horse pick for last week’s event at Pebble Beach, and he came through on one of our recommended bets on him to place in the top 20 with an 18th-place finish. He was near the top of the leaderboard after the first round with an 8-under 64, but couldn’t seize that momentum for the second and third rounds of the event before finishing with a 6-under 66 in the final round on Sunday.

Finau finished T5 at this event last year, and he boasts six top-25 finishes in 11 career starts at The Genesis, including three top 10s. At 90-1, Finau holds tremendous value once again this week as an extreme outright long shot. If you want to play it a little more conservatively, back the American to finish inside the top 20 at +220 odds.

Genesis Invitational betting favourite

Scottie Scheffler enters the 2026 Genesis Invitational as the +320 outright favourite, and his chances to claim a third Riviera title are exceptionally strong given his unmatched ball-striking dominance and course fit.

Scheffler’s 2025 season was a masterclass in consistency, with three wins, 14 top-10s, and a strokes-gained tee-to-green average of +2.45—the best in the field by 0.6 strokes. At Riviera, he’s posted T2 (2024), T3 (2025), and a win (2023), leading the event in SG: Approach (+10.2) and scrambling (72%) over those starts. His iron play thrives on the par-3s (all under par) and approaches to the diabolical 10th and 18th, where he ranks first in proximity from 150-200 yards.

Riviera’s firm, small greens demand elite tee shots and lag putting—Scheffler ranks top-5 in both SG: Off-the-Tee (+1.2) and Putting Inside 10 Feet (98.5%). His newfound putting stroke (gained +0.8 SG last event) addresses past Riviera woes, where he lost strokes putting in 2023’s win but rebounded strongly since.

Genesis Invitational top Canadians in the field

Taylor Pendrith (+6000): Pendrith has the shortest outright odds of any Canadian in the field after finishing T34 at Pebble Beach last week. He missed the cut in his previous two events this season after opening 2026 with a very respectable T6 result. This will be his third start at the Genesis Invitational, an event he’s never finished better than T50 at.

Nick Taylor (+7000): Taylor has been impressively consistent in a small sample size this season, finishing T28 or better in all four of his events. He finished T24 at Pebble Beach last week and he landed inside the top 15 at the Sony Open in January. His best finish is a T9 (2025) at this event.

Corey Conners (+11000): Conners typically has the shortest odds of any Canadian in the field on a weekly basis, but it hasn’t been an ideal start to the 2026 season for him. He finished T70 last week at Pebble Beach after missing the cut at the Phoenix Open. In six career starts at The Genesis Invitational, Conners has missed the cut three times and never finished better than T24.
