BetMGM brand ambassador Connor McDavid has returned to the ice to deliver a responsible gambling message for the popular sports betting and iGaming operator in a TV commercial alongside former NHL player and actor, Terry Ryan, in a spot titled “Mullet Over” that pays tribute to the popular hockey-themed hairstyle.

The 30-second spot is airing in the U.S. and Canada on mainstream television as well as on digital platforms.

“Filming the ‘Mullet Over’ commercial with Terry was a fun opportunity to combine hockey humour with a meaningful message,” said McDavid, a three-time Hart Trophy winner as the NHL’s MVP, in a press release obtained by Canada Sports Betting. “It’s important to stay in control, and BetMGM’s tools and resources help customers do just that.”

McDavid has previously been featured in two previous responsible gambling ads, with BetMGM reporting a 38% year-over-year increase in players in Ontario using deposit limit tools following the release of its 2024 ad featuring the superstar hockey player.

BetMGM offers a variety of responsible gambling features, including the ability to set time and spending limits. BetMGM also provides player education through GameSense, an industry-leading program developed and licensed to MGM Resorts and BetMGM by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. The program is integrated across BetMGM’s mobile and desktop platforms, as well as MGM Resorts properties nationwide, providing practical tips and promoting positive, transparent, and proactive engagement around responsible play.

McDavid has been a brand ambassador for BetMGM since 2022. Many other current and former athletes, including Derek Jeter, Wayne Gretzky, Barry Sanders, and Kevin Garnett are also ambassadors for BetMGM.

BetMGM is only legally available to sports bettors in Ontario, but could expand its operations to Alberta once the province launches its new regulated sports betting market in early 2026.
